We need to come up with some kind of system for meeting other BGPers at ballgames and such. I realized this following our weight meet at Lynn Camp High School this weekend when I could have met at least 2 of my fellow posters that I did not know were going to be there.

Any ideas out there? Anyone tried this before?

Sign up sheet? Big cardboard sandwich sign around our necks? Bat signal lights that form out "BGP" in the night sky?

What has worked well for some of you?

 

This could be a bad idea, I don't know. Just curious if there was any interest.

(Asking each and every person at a game if they were "Pigskin Pete" would get both tiresome and probably get you put away.)

I try to always introduce myself to someone who is wearing BGP gear.

I've met members by sending them messages and letting them know where I'll be or what type of BGP gear I'll be wearing.

I'm better off buying it, 3w. I never win at anything....

If I know that I am going to be in the same area as another member, I normally PM them and ask if they want to meet up, some people don't like to do this, so this gives them an opportunity to say so. If they want to meet up, I give them my cell number and let them call me when they arrive and we can meet. Giving them my cell also gives them an opportunity to not call, if they don't want to meet me without having to say so.

 

That is the best way that I have found to meet up with fellow members.

I have met many BGP, but in different ways. nWo I met while we were playing at Madison Central. We had PMed each other earlier and plan to meet at the game. I met a few posters at the All A this year....I had on my BGP t-shirt and they stopped me and we started to talk. I met several a few years back at the state football playoffs. Some at the Sweet 16 state tourney and some this year at the BKO. Also have met some during ball season when we play another team....usually we PM before and then meet at the game. Have even met some on the golf course. Some I have talked to on the phone...giving or receiving updates...but have never met yet in person...hope to in the future.

I usually just tell other bgp members where I will be at a game or etc., I met a lot of people from Belfry when Lloyd played them a few years back int he playoffs and met some real fine people from the pond nation. During the football season I travel week to week and have a hard time now meeting anyone since I scout. JD

I met GoldSunrise when my son was playing football against GRC. I met NWO when he was playing against Madison Central. I had met JimSchue several years ago at a ballgame, and have known Les for years. I met 3wishes at a passing scrimmage several years ago. I worked with LC99 a few years ago. Boucher introduced me to BGP. All are good people.

 

BGP gear is a good way to identify each other at a game.
