Bear in mind I don't represent KC, I just have a football helmet for a logo. For all I know the coach or administration may absolutely love the idea of playing in The Arena. The views expressed are mine alone.

From the looks of it, it looks like your a Knox Central...So that means it's only a 15 min drive every year. If it was at somewhere like Harlan County then it would be alot farther.

Just like you...I don't represent my city or school. I simply cheer for the Hounds.

 

As far as financial benefits...check with your local government or chamber of commerce and ask them what impact hosting the regional tournament has on local businesses.

Parking.....

Seating capacity........

Locker room facilities.......

NO SPLIT SESSIONS.........

Good for the schools.........

I think that the Arena can answer all of these in the positive, while the schools cannot answer in the positive to every question. While I like the atmosphere at the schools, if every school regardless of participation can make money then I think it is good. Heck the last year Cawood hosted they reported that they made ZERO money. Love may be what makes the world go round but MONEY is the axis that it spins on. If it was not that way there would be no split sessions. Plus the arena will give them a feel for the big stage that they could play on later should they win.

 

All the rest is just static in my opinion

All I can say to that is WOW! I heard KC made a bundle year before last and I'm sure Bell did just fine last year. If not why bother with the headache of being a host.

Unless I am wrong, the packet they gave out during the Principals meeting used 50 as an example? They had to start with some number so why not 50 I guess?

What about the seating? Is there really going to be 40 to 50 feet to the regular seats and the court? That is a big waste of space! Was they serouis about puting folding chairs out there with no elevation! How are people the 5th row back going to see? This is not a basketball arena.

They will not see in the 2nd, 3rd, or any row unless you are on the first!

I am sure that the Arena management will purchase some risers to place the folding seats similar to those in Rupp Arena by the time the regional tournament will be held next March. It would be a simple issue to address along with the Pavement in the parking lots.
