April 25, 200917 yr Dickerson with 3 more K's today. I'm concerned with a few players at this point, but I believe some will be ok. Gonzo seems to be hitting the ball and I believe and hope BP will find his stroke. Dickerson on the other hand? I've been a supporter of his going back to last year, but now I honestly believe, he's in over his head. This Reds Team has pretty good pitching for once, but the lack of a right handed power bat is hurting them. It doesn't look like their going to be able to trade for anyone, so what do they do? Personally, I would like to see some of the kids who have produced in the minors, get their shot, sooner than later. A kid like Todd Frazier who has hit every where he's been. He's not going to hit 40 HR's, but he will hit for average and make contact. This kid knows how to play the game. Here is a kid who has played SS, 2B almost every where he's ever played. The Reds moved him to OF this year and one would think this would be a tough trasition. Not so far for Frazier, he is currently hitting .351 thru 14 games and 57 AB's, and has struck out only five times. April 25, 200917 yr Bbguy after what i witnessed up close and personal today, I am inclined to agree about Dickerson. He is lost right now. As far as a 350 hitter in AA, man I don't know about that.

On this team, though, he has to play in a platoon role ... says a lot about the Reds' offense.
April 26, 200917 yr Author Just got back from the game. I saw more than I wanted to see of Dickerson. Not only is he not hitting, but he can't field a lick. I can't remember the last time I saw a major league outfielder back pedal for 10 yards or so going after a fly ball instead of turning and running. How much longer are they going to go with E-5? I should have listened to spindoc last year. I'm now 0-3 in my last 3 Reds games. :irked:

Dickerson is obviously quicker than Dunn, but you're right, he's not even close as being fundamentally sound as Dunn as far as going after the baseball. He looked like a guy that had never played outfield before. He dropped 3 balls today that should have been caught, and looked just awful at the plate.

He was alright last year, but he's still young & obviously is not a great hitter. However, his lack of defense is shocking. And quite frankly, it's enough to pull him out of the lineup.
