April 27, 200917 yr How are you going to try and play that card and say Janish is a viable replacement for Gonzo. That's my whole point. It's no more crazy than you and LRCW thinking Rosales is a better option than E5...
April 27, 200917 yr Author Gonzo is a career .247 hitter. I am very confident in saying that Janish can hit between .230-.240 if he plays every day. So why replace Gonzo with someone who you only feel can hit only 7-17 points lower than Gonzo's career average? Doesn't make much sense. Do you think the Reds are going to just eat his $5 million dollar salary?
April 27, 200917 yr Yes, I'm very confident that Rosales can be an improvement on what Encarnacion is offering right now. Encarnacion needs a wake up call. Again, based on what? His 30 career ABs? Yeah, that .207 average sure left me excited....

Do you think the Reds are just going to eat his $7 million salary?
April 27, 200917 yr I'd replace E-5 before Gonzo, if I could only replace one. I loathe laziness and E-5 is lazy.

April 27, 200917 yr That's my whole point. It's no more crazy than you and LRCW thinking Rosales is a better option than E5... I don't think he is a better option but he is on fire and E-5 is not. What would it hurt to bring him up and try to ride his bat if he can stay hot. Janish is useless on this team IMO.

April 27, 200917 yr Author Again, based on what? His 30 career ABs? Yeah, that .207 average sure left me excited.... Based on what I've seen out of Encarnacion so far this season. He is completely lost at the plate. What is it going to hurt to send him down, and give Rosales a chance for a 2-3 week period?
April 27, 200917 yr Author Why replace Edwin with someone who won't even come close to his production? Do you think the Reds are just going to eat his $7 million salary? What production?:lol:

Janish is useless on this team IMO. He's 5-14 this year....Shoot it took Gonzo until Friday night to get hit #5.... He's on fire in AAA.... Triple A production always translates into MLB success. Signed, Brandon Larson
April 27, 200917 yr What production?:lol: He'll end up with between 15-22 HRs and 60-80 RBI, just like he has the past 3 seasons....Do you think Rosales can come close to that?
April 27, 200917 yr So the heck with production, we just want a bunch of guys that play hard. Talent be darned...:idunno: They're 10-8 with him basically just filling a uni and thats it.

Janish is useless on this team IMO. Now to be totally fair you guys are wanting to replace E-5 with Rosales because he's been ridiculously hot in AAA. Meanwhile you think it is ridiculous to replace Gonzo with Janish who, so far has been hot in the Majors. Personally, I think that neither Janish nor Rosales is any kind of viable replacement for this season or long term but you have to admit it is somewhat of a double standard to want to bring up Rosales but dismiss others wanting to give Janish a few games in a row.

Thank you. All I'm trying to do is point out the blatant double standard, and they just don't seem to get it. If one needs to be replaced, the other sure as heck does.
