April 17, 200917 yr [/b] Wow, can't believe he tried to go there. I like Calipari, but puhhleeaseee. Bruce Pearl has beaten Cal 2 of the last 3 times they have met, I'm sure he liked his shirt. I'm like you Purple. My first thought was, "Why should they schedule a game with us?" It's just fans being fans I guess. Cold Stove time, got to talk about something I suppose. One thing that Cal is doing well is he's out there heralding the program on show after show because he knows it's been a while since UK was out there in the light. Milk it during recruiting all you can Cal.
April 17, 200917 yr I love to hear Coach Cal speak. Always says the right things and what we like to hear. So I'm ready to see him take this program back to the very top. GO CATS!!!!!!!!!!!!:dancingpa
April 17, 200917 yr Cal has done more in the weeks since his hire, than BCG did in 2 years I had that same thought today. It's a complete 180.
April 17, 200917 yr Close your eyes and listen to Calipari and it sounds a lot like Rick Pitino 15 years ago ... the man is telling UK fans exactly what they want to hear.
April 17, 200917 yr Cal has done more in the weeks since his hire, than BCG did in 2 years BCG signed a big recruit at the start of his tenure

I dont necessarily think that he meant "Duke doesn't want a piece of this"... I think it was more of a "Duke really doesn't care to play us."
April 17, 200917 yr JC is a snake-oil salesman. He is throwing manna to the masses. It is fun, the fans are re energized, and if recruiting goes well, then we should be a player on the national scene again. I'm enjoying it but not going overboard...still a lot to play out. We will see what happens when he loses a couple of games... For now it is fun...
April 17, 200917 yr I am so happy Calipari is UK's coach. He's the right man for the job and he should have gotten it two years ago.
April 17, 200917 yr What else has Cal done? - He has made about 15-20 appearances on national television and radio to advertise the program - He has met with the top contributors to the program and sold them on what he plans to do - He has hired two former Wildcats as assistant coaches (as opposed to pushing them away) - He's held 4-5 practices - He's flown to all ends of the country recruiting two of the nation's top 10 players - He's signed the nation's 2nd ranked player - He's done everything that a UK coach is supposed to do and more :thumb:

I remember people were anointing Orton as savior last year, and I thought how the expectations were too much. Now apparently Orton isn't as good as many of our other options. In just a few days back on BGP, I've already heard that Cousins, Bledsoe, Wall, Stevenson, Meeks, Patterson, Henry, Galloway, and Liggins- with the exception of 2 players, all freshman and under performers consistently criticized just a few months ago- would be "extremely successful" under the DDM. I am optimistic too, but we shouldn't expect too much.
