Wesley Witherspoon will likely transfer to Kentucky

I do not see WW fitting in and eating up a scholarship at this juncture....

Coach Cal must see something in him and at this point that is good enough for me. He would have to set out a season. If he comes and I mean if I will make a judgement when I see him play. You can not judge a horse by his colors.

We would not have him until the 2010-2011 season. He would have to set out one season.

But he would take a scholarship while he sat out. Like Pilgrim this year.

You are right never thought about that. I am glad someone can keep me straight.:D

If Calipari plans to take him, I assume he's a kid that can play.

Lets down grade the players that average 4 points a game but be happy to get another player that average 4 points a game.

A freshman four star on Memphis roster who averaged 4 points, is alot different...Just sayin

Just because they were on the Memphis team last year doesn't automatically make them great. It's like there is no love for many of our could be returning players that averaged more than 4 ppg and suddenly because they are coming from Memphis--they're WONDERFUL. I agree they have some recruits that would be nice to pick ups but please.

Averaging 2 ppg behind NBA talent and averaging 4 ppg behind our talent is 2 totally different things. I'll take the Memphis 4 ppg all day!!

Well speaking of Taggart, NCAA rules permit a player to transfer without sitting out a year if they are a graduate student, like Kirby Freeman transferring from Miami to Baylor this year. So if Cousins doesn't come that could be a possibility. Unlikely, but it would be allowed.

That loophole has been closed...

Didn't know that. It's probably a good thing though. But I could see the reason why they allow it.

You guys crack me up sometimes...

I watched Mempis @ Marshall last year and Taggart was warming up shooting jump shots from almost half court like he was on the charity stripe. I'd love to have him for a year at UK. But, I'm sure GT is up on the rules.

Witherspoon handles the ball well and can play guard @ 6'8". I'll take him!!!

Plenty of room? All everyone has been talking about all week was who we needed to kick out to make room for new recruits. Does this mean we have room for everyone we hope to get for next year now?

I wasn't addressing the number of schollys and players on the team. I was addressing someone's remark that we should honor the kids who've done better than 4 points a game in our program.

So I listed them. :thumb:

All I was doing was pointing out he can't be much worse than what we've already had which would be what, 8 out of 13 players? :D

Walk-on or scholarship player?

I'll assume scholarship.

What I mean by that will he be on scholarship if he transfers here or will he be a walk-on?
