March 31, 200917 yr I hope he don't ask Joe B to much. Joe should have won a couple more titles with the talent he had. I agree. Winning NCAA titles is so easy. :ohbrother:
March 31, 200917 yr Bozich is on Outside The Lines. Didn't say much. Just about Cal talking to Joe B. Hall.
March 31, 200917 yr Author I figured LRCW would certainly chime in on this one. Is his gut still talking? Not since lunch.
March 31, 200917 yr I agree. Winning NCAA titles is so easy. :ohbrother: John Wooden would beg to differ. He upset Joe B for one of how many ? :idunno:
March 31, 200917 yr John Wooden would beg to differ. He upset Joe B for one of how many ? :idunno: When UCLA won their 10 titles under Wooden, there weren't many upsets. They had the best teams in the country. I have also never heard Wooden say it was easy.
March 31, 200917 yr I figured LRCW would certainly chime in on this one. Is his gut still talking?

March 31, 200917 yr I hope he don't ask Joe B to much. Joe should have won a couple more titles with the talent he had. Please. Joe B. must have been at fault when the players couldn't shoot better than 3-33 vs. Georgetown. It must have been Joe B's fault when Bowie missed 2 years with a stress fracture. :idunno: It was probably Joe's fault he couldn't beat UCLA in '75 when the Bruins were playing in their back yard at San Diego and Wooden was retiring after the game. :taz: Yeah, he should have had more titles. :ohbrother:
March 31, 200917 yr I figured LRCW would certainly chime in on this one. Is his gut still talking? Let me know when it becomes official. :sssh::popcorn:
March 31, 200917 yr Let me know when it becomes official. :sssh::popcorn: Do you really think that reminder was necessary? As if I wouldn't make absolutely certain to tell you, of all people... SSF already told you not to worry.
March 31, 200917 yr When UCLA won their 10 titles under Wooden, there weren't many upsets. They had the best teams in the country. I have also never heard Wooden say it was easy. If I had won 10 NCAA titles I doubt winning was easy would come out of my mouth. Joe B won about 10 national titles for recruiting the best classes. There was a reason he didn't want to play Denny Crum and Louisville. Joe B is a lot like Jimmy Carter the older he gets and the farther away he gets from his past the better he became.

Hall era. Not too shabby: 1972-73: 20-8 (Lost in Elite 8) 1973-74: 13-13 (No Postseason) 1974-75: 26-5 (Lost National Championship) 1975-76: 20-10 (Won NIT) 1976-77: 26-4 (Lost in Elite 8) 1977-78: 30-2 (Won National Championship) 1978-79: 19-12 (Lost in NIT First Round) 1979-80: 29-6 (Lost in Sweet 16) 1980-81: 22-6 (Lost in NCAA First Round) 1981-82: 22-8 (Lost in NCAA First Round) 1982-83: 23-8 (Lost in Elite 8) 1983-84: 29-5 (Lost in Final Four) 1984-85: 18-13 (Lost in Sweet 16)
March 31, 200917 yr Joe B is a lot like Jimmy Carter the older he gets and the farther away he gets from his past the better he became. Isn't almost everyone in this boat?
March 31, 200917 yr Why are we ragging on Joe B? Thought this thread was about a phone call. :ohbrother:
