There were a couple of other schools that were very interested in Jonathan. I can remember one being The Citadel for sure.

Euton is a better player than Pittman IMO.

 

Are you kidding me? It isn't even close who the better player is. Pittman might not shoot as well but he has him on everything else.

Yes, Jonathan has several offers. Does a bird have wings?? After seeing him play probably 75 games and watching HS basketball for 40 years he is still one of the best shooters to ever play HS basketball in KY. I talked to numerous KY college coaches after games standing on the court (especially after 35 point games against Ballard and South Charleston) and many were salivating to get this young man, were wildly ecstatic, and would have signed him on the spot.

 

Although as friends of the family I could come as close as anyone in answering this question, it is certainly not my place in this forum or even in a private forum (so don't PM me). IMO there is only one member on here that can or has the right to answer this if he so choses and he may chose not to for personal family reasons and we all should respect that. My last encouragement to all would be not start wild speculation and leave it alone and move on to other subjects. Jonathan is a wonderful young man. Wish him the best and leave it at that.

 

I meant nothing by that post. Jonathan is one of the best pure shooters I've seen and when he got in that zone it was fun to watch. If the kid is tired of basketball that is no big deal. I know it will be very hard on his dad but as much as he loves his kids he will deal with it.

Had a talk yesterday with Dale and a couple other friends. Just thought I would let you know you are wrong on your highlighted assessment BBF. Dale said when the buzzer went off on the last game he was ecstatic and even told friends it was one of the happiest days of his life knowing that Jonathan would never have to endure playing for Rick and one of the players ever again.

He also said that the following day when Jonathan returned home he was happiest he had saw him in two years. You are right about one thing though, he really seems to love his kids. He also said he has scheduled several hunting and fishing trip for the summer and the fall and would much rather be hunting or fishing with Jonathan than sitting somewhere watching him play a game.

 

For the most important note: Jonathan is enrolling in the college of his choice and pursuing a degree in Pharmacy. Don't be surprized if there is a Drug store

I think Ferg would regret making that decision the rest of his life. Trust me, been there and done that and I still think about what a stupid move I made by not taking the free ride and playing college sports. I wish him the best at what ever he desides to do.

I disagree, Euton is a one dimensional player imo. He's a better shooter than Pittman, but that is the only thing he is better at. Elijah is a better rebounder-always rebounds at the rim-he is more athletic and gets to the basket a lot better.

 

Euton gets a lot of credit for being such a highly rated prospect out of Middle School. I don't think he has gotten much better since, Pittman hands down.

Preferred walk-on is a relatively new term that refers to a non-scholarship player that is guaranteed a roster spot by the coach such as Landon Slone, Adam Delph (UK) and Richie Phares (UL). This is different from a walk-on who wins a spot on the roster by other means, such as try-outs, through intramurals or even athletes from other sports at that college. A preferred walk-on usually stays for all 4 years, the other walk-ons are usually for a season as needed because of player shortages, injuries, etc.

What is the status of Landon Slone and Adam Delph now that Calipari is coach, it doesn't look too good, but I dont know what it would hurt them staying on the team.
