I think that's right. Barsotti is not that bad also. We may not be kicking any 35-50 yard field goals, but I don't see extra points being an issue. And besides, if they do become an issue, that just means we'll have to use Reese and go for 2, right?

Historically I think French prefers a running team. He certainly would not throw as much as the Smith/Pardue teams did during the run. I recall that even when they had great backs like Quinn and Givhan, the Smith teams still played pretty balanced ball.

 

In 2007 at Lincoln County Coach French had two backs rush for over 1,000 yards (Braxston Miller 1,496 and Trent Calhoun 1,308) and a quarterback throw for over 1,000 yards (Levi Rogers 1,837 yards).

 

THAT, is balance at the high school level.

Unlike some other Rebel fans, I am concerned about the qb position. Boone does throw a very hard ball and we don't have Seth or Jacob Tamme's soft hands in there to catch them. It can be awfully cold in November and December in KY, making it all the more harder to catch those hard passes.

 

We definitely have a harder schedule, but I remain optimistic and think we will be in Bowling Green that first Saturday in December.

I can understand your worry. I'd say the worry lies more with our untested and new, inexperienced receivers. I think Boone will be fine. I also think our receivers will step up to the task. Logan and Conner are competitors and if Ferrell and Harrington get time at receiver as well, I have no worries. Not to mention I think Lamar will probably still line up at TE.

See, he had twice as many people rushing for over 1,000 yards than QB's passing for over 1,000 yards.

Went 2-2 at Western and didn't make the "playoffs" for the tourney. Some very good teams were there but we have a long way to go. Too many new faces, going to take a while for timing and chemistry to come around. Goldsmith just needs more game experience. They will get there, just needs some time.
