YBYA Rico will be guarding Vee tomorrow. I think Holmes will play a great defensive game and advance.

 

He's a good ball player dont get me wrong but I wasnt overly impressed with Vee today. I know he ended up with around 30 points and came thru when his team needed him, but I thought he struggled a bit especially in the first half. He didnt take very good care of the rock and threw it away a few times.

 

Really wish I was able to go tomorrow and watch him and Rico go at it. I really think he will shut down Sanford. Whatever Vee gets scoring wise tomorrow he will have earned every point.

I know Vee had a lot of points today but I was more impressed with #32 for LC. The dawgs will need to get on him too.

Have seen both Holmes and LexCath play a couple of times each and the only player that can play with Holmes from LexCath is..... Vee Sanford.

Jaylen Beckham, while only a frosh, can play with anybody in the country.

I do agree Holmes has superior personnel and should win this game though...

I think Holmes is the #1 team in this tourny, however I dont think they are playing as well as they did earlier in the season. I know they have bunch straight, but they have had a few close ones lately. (and I mean around 10 points not 1) So I will say LC pulls off the upset. Either way it will be a good one.

 

No offense bro, but I think you are hoping this will happen. If you gave an honest assessment, I'd bet you would say Holmes wins this game. I understand and I don't blame you. I do the same thing when UK is in the NCAAs because they typically need things to fall their way to get to a Final Four or win a championship. With Holmes this year, I don't have those worries. I actually want them to play all the best teams because that will make it even sweeter when they cut down the nets.

 

I totally agree with the member earlier who said that Christian County's press was tougher than LexCath's. Holmes beat a really good team today. They will take care of business in this matchup and go on to a legendary Saturday morning.

 

I just wish this Ellliott County team came along in a different year, cuz the Lord knows I love the movie "Hoosiers." Their story is so cool and they have a nation rooting for them.

Holmes isn't a flashy team but the do what it takes to get the job done. I really like the way they play, they are one of the few teams that are so athletic that run an offense as their primary game plan. I love it.

Lex Cath. just didn't look like to me the team that Holmes is.

If Catholic comes out with intensity in their press and they knock down three's this will be a very interesting game. Sanford should have a good game and if Botkin or Martin for Catholic play a really good game as well I see that as beating Holmes. LC beat a SC team IMO with the one of the best athletic guards in the state Guynn and DI recruit in Jackson, Euton and that young kid thats getting all the hype. This isn't a typical "athletic" team. Holmes doesn't use their athleticism to fly up and down the court w/ reckless abandon and rely on its speed. It uses its athleticism to play lock down, disciplined D. This will be a great game to watch. R. Johnson v. Sanford will be one of the better one on one matchups in recent tournament history.

I believe they put J. Johnson on Botkin, I think Botkin is a good ball player. Holmes will win, and I expect Pittman to dominate inside(If he stays inside).

In an up tempo game Holmes will be hard to beat. But Holmes can play defense too as they proved in their 9th region games against Ryle, NCC and Boone. Good Luck to the Bulldogs. If they can win the next 3 or for that matter if the state champ comes from any of the teams in the bottom bracket they will have to play against 3 really good teams.

Pittman will be the difference in this game. I think Lex Cath's post players are really underrated, and Pittman will need to play well. If he plays to his potential Holmes will win by 8 or so.

If Holmes brings their A game, I'll go with Holmes by a score of about 60-53 and if they don't bring their A game, Catholic wins in a squeaker.
