Holmes 41 Ryle 34

Featured Replies

Holmes blew everybody out in districts. They had a slight let down and still won. I'll take a win in the regions on an apparent bad game anytime.:idunno:

Sometimes good defense for 32 minutes will take something out of you.

Holmes played hard defense and the result is they won.

The offense just shut down for Holmes tonight, but i saw some good defense to a Ryle run and throughout the game that broke Ryle down. Ryle was looking for open shots and they did not get it "THAT IS DEFENSE".

Very nice, thank you for the pic :notworthy:

I think Holmes is a very good team but I don't care how good their defense is playing they will need to at least score in the 60s to make a run at the state title. Scoring 40 points a game will not get it done.

You can win by 1 or 50, a win is still a win, Holmes gets one step closer with every game they win. I would agree Holmes hasn't played to there full potential, but when they do WATCH OUT! I don't know about anyone else, but i still believe Holmes can bring nky home a state championship!

How come Boone beats Beechwood by 7 and everyone posts "Good win" and "Good job Rebels". Holmes beats Ryle, who is better than Beechwood, by 7, and people say Holmes needs to step it up or they won't make it out of the ninth region or be a contender for the state title! Whats up with that? I don't think anyone is giving Holmes any credit, unless they blow every team by 20!

I don't think that it is a matter of blowing everyone out by 20 but simply a matter of expectations. Reality check is that Holmes is the only team with a chance from NKY to win the state title and they are not performing to that expectation. I believe that Holmes has not changed a bit all year in that they consistently play to the competition and do just enough to win the game that they happen to be playing.

I will be at Rupp and hope that Holmes has it's act together!

When they go to the state, them boys don't play stall ball down there. So Holmes will be fine. :thumb:

Nice work Panda.

BTW, what was up with Lamping blatantly undercutting Pittman when he went up for the first dunk on the break away? He was lucky he didn't get called for the intentional foul.

People keep talking about Holmes playing to their level of competition, but what people are forgetting is that Holmes still comes out on top. Yes they had a couple of slip ups with BS and Boone, atleast Holmes can play with and beat any team in the state, and their record shows this!

See, now you could have just said that earlier. If people are stalling the ball on Holmes then the score makes much more sense.

I think some of you might be missing the fact the Ryle plays pretty good defense too. Maybe that had a little to do with The Bulldogs scoring only 41 points. It was a good win by Holmes and shows they are able to gut it out in a tough defensive game. Both teams played hard tonight.

Not so true, most teams down state have not played against a team that plays, Ibelieve tougher defense than Holmes. I have notice when Holmes offense in not own their defense steps up and for 29 +1 wins it shows they can play anybody.

Look at the losing points total for the season of Holmes victims.
