Holmes 41 Ryle 34

Featured Replies

The picture doesn't do the play justice. The foul was missed in those shots. 32 slapped Pittman across the arms, thus his left arm being straight down in that first shot. It was a good, hard, clean foul.

Very true. It was a very hard foul across the arms. Correct call was made.

When they go to the state, them boys don't play stall ball down there. So Holmes will be fine. :thumb:

Really? :ohbrother:

Congrats to Holmes on winning a defensive battle. Ryle played just as tough on D as Holmes except that the Dawgs blocked a bunch more shots and that was one main difference in the game. Ryle got lots of shots underneath but Holmes' great ability to block shots and change trajectories is why the Dawgs prevailed. As I predicted, the 9th region will not be a cakewalk with 3 double-digit wins for Holmes. These 16th region refs allow a college/NBA style of play and that may make it harder for Holmes to win the region than the state. If Holmes survives the 9th, they will score a lot more points in games at Rupp. Best wishes to all Ryle seniors. They left it on the floor.

Watch the replay on ICN 6 at 11:35....not 11:24, my bad.

Tez, at your suggestion I watched ICN6.

It was 100% a shot attempt. No one throws a pass off the board by doing a finger roll.

Fair enough.

It could honestly be considered either IMO though. His shot off the backboard was so far to the side of the rim it made it look like a pass.

Incidentally, a scuffle nearly broke out in the tunnel as the teams were headed down the same path to the locker room. The Holmes player was still mouthing about the foul. Cooler heads and some coaches prevailed or it could have been ugly.

If John Wimzie tells you to cool it, you cool it.

How come Boone beats Beechwood by 7 and everyone posts "Good win" and "Good job Rebels". Holmes beats Ryle, who is better than Beechwood, by 7, and people say Holmes needs to step it up or they won't make it out of the ninth region or be a contender for the state title! Whats up with that? I don't think anyone is giving Holmes any credit, unless they blow every team by 20!

Why is it half the people picked Beechwood to beat Boone County and yet hardly anybody pick Ryle to be Holmes? or Why will 90% of the people on this board will tell you that Cov-Holmes is the best team in the 9th, yet Boone Co had the best season in the region?

Just reporting what I witnessed. I have no idea who this man is. But, I'm guessing he wears red-tinted glasses. :D

Looks like they stayed for the first 4 minutes.

Yea I agree. :irked:

John is a legend and rightly so in Covington. Super nice guy but he has the respect of every player on that Holmes team. What he says goes.

It looked like a Holmes runaway after they drained their first 3 or 4 treys. I guess even the cameraman thought that 14 points was enough for Holmes to beat the Raiders.:D

Actually both Boone and Holmes are currently 15-1 in the region and Holmes is 30-2 while Boone is 25-4. Both have had great seasons, but I wouldn't say one has had a better season in region than the other considering Boone lost to Highlands (a team Holmes beat) and Holmes lost to Boone. Overall, there's no way Boone has had a better season considering the amount of top 25 wins Holmes has and they are still the only team in KY to beat the team from Georgetown.
