Holmes 41 Ryle 34

Featured Replies

See, now you could have just said that earlier. If people are stalling the ball on Holmes then the score makes much more sense.

I already stated that in a post on page one.....

Ryle isn't the type of team that tries to get out and run. They are very patient on offense and play tough defense. Very rarely is there a game between them and an opponent in the 60's.

Ryle has scored more than 60 points 6 times this year and in the 30's 5 times this year. Their opponents have scored more than 60 points just 4 times.

Nice work Panda.

BTW, what was up with Lamping blatantly undercutting Pittman when he went up for the first dunk on the break away? He was lucky he didn't get called for the intentional foul.

He didn't undercut him. Good hard foul.

From the update thread:

Our old friend ER just text me and said JJ threw it off the backboard for Pittman to flush. Just NASTY.

Uh, not hardly. JJ simply missed the layup as he was going around a defender.

That is funny, though.

The dunk was quite impressive. He literally came out of nowhere. Great hustle.

You are right that's not the way it happened .

Watch the ICN 6 Scoreboard at 11:24. I just saw the replay of it and I think it may not have been an over exaggeration. JJ clearly threw the ball one handed off the side of the square and Pittman threw it down with two hands.

Ryle defense was not that great tonight, Holmes miss a lot of easy layups and they had open shot from the outside that they just miss. The refs let them played tonight but i saw the terrible hacking in this game.

JJ was shooting.

No way that was a good hard foul...he clearly undercut him while he was in the air. The pictures even show it. I could understand had he attempted to go for the ball, but it was all body as Pittman was about to throw it down.

Watch the replay on ICN 6 at 11:35....not 11:24, my bad.

The first picture in that last set with #20 in the air, wasn't called a foul, and the player from ryle was mad when it wasn't called ryle's ball.

The picture doesn't do the play justice. The foul was missed in those shots. 32 slapped Pittman across the arms, thus his left arm being straight down in that first shot. It was a good, hard, clean foul.

I sat under the basket and I can honestly say, I don't know how anyone can score on Holmes when they are guarding like that. Its intimidating to even watch. They may have only won by seven, but that seven might has well have been 30. I see why they win all these 50-40 type games. If they can get hot from the perimeter, they could definitely take home their first state title.

That should have been 2 and the ball.

That should have been 2 and the ball.

Based on what?

I had the best view in the building on the foul on Pittman. It should have been an intentional.

In regard to the dunk... Johnson just missed the layup off to the side because he was a little out of control. Pittman's slam proved to be the turning point for the Holmes victory.

I think Holmes is a very good team but I don't care how good their defense is playing they will need to at least score in the 60s to make a run at the state title. Scoring 40 points a game will not get it done.

I wouldn't get too caught up in how many points they score. They'll score when tempo dictates it. Its the DEFENSE, that will win a championship for Holmes.
