Seems like I'm reading about a lot of complaining about the refs. I sat in the boone section, on accident and listened to nothing but complaining about the officials. I truthfully thought they let the kids play. It was a physical game that the 9th region officials don't let happen as much. But overal I thought the refs from the 16th were very consistant on both ends. There were a handful of questionable calls, but there would have been also if we had 9th officials.

 

After watching both games last night, I think I was satisfied with both officiating crews. Could have been a lot worse......In the Boone the game. It came down to Beechwood stopped making shots. They were in the entire game because they WERE making shots.

This is only one person's opinion and maybe Boone played their worst game of the year, but I came away from this game not impressed at all with Boone's team. Boone didn't have anyone that looks like they can make an outside shot, and outside of some crucial mistakes by Beechwood down the stretch, Boone loses this game.

So now you understand why Beechwood made it to the Ninth Region. Try having your best player miss 98% of the season like Shover did for CovCath.

 

Getting hurt during the game is just a part of the game, and when you have men in stripes from a different Region than the Ninth you have to remember they call a different style of game so you have to be ready for it....

If Romes didn't get hurt, Beechwood would have won IMO. However, he did get hurt, which is a risk you take when you play. Unfortunately, Beechwood's bench was not deep enough to make up for it. We had a small group of talented players who played with great heart and tried their best. Thats all you can ask for.

 

Congrats to Boone Co. Good luck as you move on.

 

A special congrats to our senior team. You have brought life back into the basketball program and given us all a great season. This year will be the yardstick for future Beechwood teams. Thanks!

Boone is shooting 31.1% from 3 on the year. Highlands is shooting 29%. The game will be determined by inside play.

Boone's worst game of the year was against Highlands (shooting percentage, turnover-to-assist ratio, big men not scoring, etc.) Chances are, they will play better this time, but we'll see..
