The officiating was outrageous. And if Romes would have played the whole game the Tigers would have won.

 

I agree, the officiating was very poor a lot of times, Romes was getting hammered the first half, and you could tell halfway into the first quarter that his back was really bothering him. He did a great job being in as much pain that he was in!

 

Boone "should" get to the finals.

I know the Beechwood fans were upset but come on. Beechwood didn't have a foul called on them in the first 11 minutes of the second half and only had 2 the entire second half until they started fouling.

 

A really good game. Both teams had spurts where they looked really good but neither teamed played great. Boone earned a hard fought win.

Boone did a lot of pushing under the basket to get hard rebounds though and during their press they forearmed every time to keep their man in fornt of them.

Honestly, forearm shoving and pushing under the basket isn't something a Beechwood fan should be complaining about anyways, because they did plenty of it in the games I saw them play. Beautell and Romes pushed off every chance they got, even blatantly at one point in the CovCath game last week.

 

Poor officiating or not, I think Boone winning this is the best outcome and the right one, as I feel they are the better team. They have a legit chance at making it to Rupp. IMO Holmes is the only team from the 9th that will make it through Rupp.

Because they are the better team. Right one=better team. They also have a legit shot at knocking off Holmes [although personally I don't want it to happen]. We've all seen Beechwood can't hang with Holmes, and Boone is the better of the two teams.

 

And if one of Boone's players got hurt, they have plenty to step up. Beechwood pretty much is Romes and Beautell. I was not there, I don't know if Romes was getting fouled or not, but for a fan of Beechwood to complain about the officiating seems a bit off, because Beechwood got away with ALOT everytime I saw them.

This Beechwood team accomplished a lot this season and should be very proud. This was not the best effort that I have seen the Tigers display this season, they have been a very strong team all year just looked like they ran out of gas in the end. They played a lot of man against Boone and switched everything which gave Boone some problems throughout the game. A few instances that they went complete zone Boone scored fairly easily. McFarland played a very strong game for Boone, they executed down the stretch. Officiating wasn't terrible, they let them play for the most part throughout the game. Starting calling a lot in the fourth quarter that was a little inconsistent with what they have been calling but overall not terrible. Nice effort by both teams, great game to start the region.

Was Gabbard sick this week or something? He didn't look as good as some have talked him up, and he sat pretty much at times.

Right on. Romes was not 100% but did play at least 2/3 or 3/4 of the game. And the FT did kill them.

So now you understand why Beechwood made it to the Ninth Region. Try having your best player miss 98% of the season like Shover did for CovCath.

 

Getting hurt during the game is just a part of the game, and when you have men in stripes from a different Region than the Ninth you have to remember they call a different style of game so you have to be ready for it....
