Quick is playing slot receiver for the freshmen. I don't think you will see him in a varsity uniform this year, but who knows. Not because he doesn't have the ability, but because there is not a need right now.

Thanks...I haven't seen him play but I had heard he was good enough start varsity at many schools at several different positions.

No problem! I haven't seen him either. Only going by what I've been told. I am very eager to see him in action though!

Very nice article about Coach Beatty in the Courier-Journal football preview this morning. The run he is on is remarkable.

I got a nice big laugh reading the X section. Glaser is still crying and making excuses saying that they were the best team in 2005, 2007 and 2008. Funny stuff.

Here is the quote:

"We felt like we were the best team in the state of Kentucky in 2007, 2008 and 2005,” Tigers coach Mike Glaser said. “Some things just didn't go right in that second game (against Trinity).”

He is great. I used to get upset at his comments, but now I really look forward to them. It's kind of like the senile grandparent at Christmas who always says something inappropriate that makes you laugh, smile and just shake your head in disbelief.

Then he takes you to the wood shed and beats you!

This woodshed must shut down sometime in mid-October!:ylsuper:

And I thought I was a better catch for Jessica Simpson than Tony Romo.

Don't the Tiger fans ever get fed up with such outlandish comments.

When was the last time this happened, you know in the playoffs?

Right now St.X has been a paper tiger come playoff time.

Could that change this year? Sure, but it hasn't since Beatty has been there and until then you have nothing to stand on but blustering homerism. I personally prefer a stronger foundation when I go crowing.

While I realize that T has owned the playoffs (when it counts), many act as though X is a "paper tiger" (which is a laugh in itself as if it were a "paper tiger" it wouldn't have been to as many finals/semis as it has been recently). Let's not forget 48-16 and 30-6 (which qualify as woodshed treatments between these two teams).

I personally feel that X was a better team team throughout the season in '05 and '08. I disagree with '07, as those teams probably could have split it 5-5 if they played 10 times, but the other two years, I think X takes 7 out of 10 and unfortunately for them, the final game, the one that counts most, wasn't one of their 7.

Until X beats T in the playoffs, T has to be favored, but X was essentially a total of four plays away from having titles in '03, '04, '05, '07 and '08. It's amazing how football is truly a game of inches.

Now, that does not even rate a reply or response.:deadhorse:

The "paper tiger" comment has more to do with playoff performance as opposed to quality of team.

I understand many were hard fought contests, but no matter how hard fought a game was and how close someone comes it doesn't change the fact that one team indeed lost. Against Beatty, X only ever manages to be the team that wins in the regular season, they never manage it any other time.

While I don't forget 48-16 and 30-6. I also remember 14-6 and 28-21, and the last two are far sweeter than the first two are bitter.

I'm curious as to which four plays you are referring to?

2003?

2005?

2007?

2008?

I assume one per year, so lets hear them!
