Bluegrass Will: Thanks for the image from the game. I admire your work!

Aw, sour milk face! Those mean old officials! Perhaps the fact that Greenup never pounded inside against a smaller opponent, or perhaps the fact that Greenup settled all night for 6'4" kids shooting 20 footers, or perhaps Coach Kidwell was better prepared and Russell never was scored on by an inbounds play.

As for the officials, I did enjoy Scooter Charles "scooting" along the floor when he wiped out. Teenager behind me said "Uncle Fester flopped":jump:

Classic!

I am not saying that is what cost Greenup the game. I agree with the fact they didn't pound the ball inside enough and how do you leave Skaggs open all night is a mystery. All I was saying is I have watched a lot of games over the years and by far this crew of officials was terrible!! If I was assinging games for them to ref they would be lucky to get a freshman game everynow and then!!:irked:

Congrats to Coach Kidwell and the Red Devils. I look forward to Kidwell vs. Hampton round 2.

Did anyone else hear Fraley on the radio tonight? I heard he said he didnt know if he was coming back next year.

Perhaps Dodd offered him a position on his staff.

Here is the young man that hit the winning free throws being carried off the floor. It was a heck of a spirited envirenment.

I hope the poster from the Ashland /Russell game thread doesn't see this picture and claim this to be excessive and "cocky".:sssh:

Congrats to my buddy Coach Kidwell! You have earned a spot in many people's book this year for keeping the kids positive for the entire season. The record may not be what you'd want but these boys will never forget how you taught them to never give up. They didn't (and neither did you) and now your playing for the District Championship!!!!!! Cherish this coaching accomplishment for a long time!:thumb:

I know from talking to my cousin on the team that they bought into your system and trusted you. I am so happy for the boys and for you and the staff. Good luck Friday, we'll all be there to cheer you guys on!!!!!!

P.S

I'd like my crow cajun style, please.

No doubt. The Russell kids should have put their heads down, shook hands, and walked to the locker room.

Wow. I can't believe somebody commented about kids celebrating a victory. When you have to fight so hard for a handfull of wins in a season each one is pretty special to the young men. I thought it was pretty neat to see last night.

I think you're out of the loop on this one, the comment stemmed from the Ashland/Russell game in which Ashland won.

I don't want to skew this thread, let's just say there was an Ashland fan who thought that a Russell kid was taunting. In this game, however, there was lots of emotion from kids from GC and Russell, from both coaches, and from fans of both teams. Regardless of the outcome, no one can claim poor sportsmanship. On the contrary, this is what high school sports atmospheres should be!!!

You can't tell the sarcasm by our typed words. Go back and read the Ashland-Russell thread, and you will understand. :thumb:

OK. Sorry guys. I thought you were talking about this game. You're right that emotions were very high for both teams but there wasn't any taunting during the game. I loved the spirit both teams displayed and it's what I would expect for the post season.

Believe me, if you knew me you'd know sarcasm! I would never be found commenting poorly on emotion. I love to see the kids get fired up and play hard and celebrate a victory.

I've got a few extra shots from the game. Here's the first.
