I dont even know how to respond to this hateful,and quite frankly pompus post. What happened with Dodd at Russell? Dont throw stones when you live in a glass house. As far as the football thread, most of the other team threads are giving mock lineups and talking about off season training, there have been no negative posts in that thread. I love the fact that GC football has had 3 threads with over 100 posts in each and it isnt even March yet. Things at GC will and are getting better.

Wait a second, hold on just one minute, you mean to tell me there is a coach at a school in the 16th region that doesnt have 100% support from the fans and parents. Also, you are gonna tell me that this is especially a problem at Greenup County. I cant believe it, you have got to be kidding me. Look this is a problem at GC but also at most schools in the 16th region. Heck, Im sure most schools around the state have this problem. It just happens to stick out when it happens at Greenup because it tends to happen more or get publicized more. Fact is Greenup County has talent in a lot of sports, enough talent to compete in the 16th region for sure. The problem is sometimes people in that area are to worried about their own then what is best for the program. Greenup and most of the counties around that area are very politically driven when it comes to high school athletics, it is a shame but it is the truth. Fraley is a good coach and knows his basketball, my bet would be he will return to GC next year. GC has a lot of young talent, especially on the basketball end of things. Bottom line is to many people live in the past and cant get over the McKell Wurtland rivalry. They are not a unified county when it comes to high school athletics and until the fans, parents, and grandparents realize that this isnt the 1950's things will not change at GC. Sadly I had to learn this the hard way, but it is what it is. Best of luck to GC and Coach Fraley next year.

I dont guess many people listened to the post game show, I didnt either, but I have heard 2 different people say that Fraley said he didnt know if he was comming back next year, due to all of the "fan resistance". My question is who has been saying things. I am one of his biggest critics and have not said a word since the beginning of the season. Honestly I have been to alot of games and until last night had not heard many negative things being said.

 

I did listen to the radio after the game. I can't say I heard the term "fan Resistance", but I did hear Coach Fraley say he guess he was a little arrogant when he came to greenup. That he thought he turn the program around in a year. I think Radio guy Jim Forrest said something about Greenup being a hard place to coach at. Coach Fraley went on to say Greenup was overrated, Greenup is not as talented as people think. Coach Fraley said something about being over 6 feet tall doesn't mean you can play basketball.

Also that he may need to think if he is the right person for GC job.

I think Coach Fraley is to hard on himself. GC basketball this year overachieved! He developed the younger kids into better basketball players. Next 2years GC will be playing for a Regional Championship. I don't see him leaving.

:idunno: Craft, Baker and Adkins were three of the top seniors in the 16th. Any one of them was capable of taking over a game. Mix them with Williams, Hampton, etc and this was GC's year to shine. Those three seniors will be sorely missed next year and you may be looking at Williams' senior year before seriously competing for any title.

 

Russell, on the other hand, should be much better next year and in years to come.

GC had no real shooters that could shoot the "3". They had no one to take care of the ball in the open court. I was really surprised to see them win the games they did.

What they did have was probably the best inside threat in the region, in Baker, Williams and Hampton, two solid guards in Adkins and Craft, who played their hearts out, were each capable of going off for 20 and who were able to dish off to the three after penetration. They also had a very solid bench.

I believe that Tackett will be a pretty good shooting guard for Greenup next year. The only worry will be the point guard position. Rumor mill has it that a certain guard from Raceland is moving back to Greenup next year.:idunno:
