Freebird23 Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 Try the Moonlite Bar-B-Que in Owensboro... Holy Moly! Mutton, beef, pork and/or chicken. What a treat... Any other Bar-B-Que establishments in Kentucky that's worth the visit?
NEERFAN Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 From what I've heard their is another establishment in O'boro that's supposed to be better than Moonlight.
The Scribe Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 From what I've heard their is another establishment in O'boro that's supposed to be better than Moonlight. Smokehouse I think.
STRIKE3 Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 From what I've heard their is another establishment in O'boro that's supposed to be better than Moonlight.Would that be Old Hickory? I was gluttonous at both and enjoyed it.
Freebird23 Posted February 13, 2009 Author Posted February 13, 2009 Thanks regarding Smokehouse... I may have to try that one before I leave the big O on Friday! Anyone been to Walt's Hitching Post in northern Kentucky? I have read mixed reviews on Walt's. It has been years and years since I last been there... Kentucky offer any more or is it off to Memphis?
clipper Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 Texas Outlaw in Elizabethtown have absolutely the very best ribs. We drive down to E-town just to eat there.
DragonFire Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 From what I've heard their is another establishment in O'boro that's supposed to be better than Moonlight. I've heard more and more grumblings about Moonlite being overrated. I've only eaten there once, and that was when I was 12. I remember it being good, but I don't know how well I appreciated BBQ back then. I love eating at Smokey Pig here in BG. It was featured on Alton Brown's show on Food Network. Good stuff.
RockPride Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 This really depends on what "style" of BBQ you like. To me, none really call my name, though when fixing a BBQ style meal, be it baby backs, brisket, or pork shoulder, I tend to do a Memphis style more than anything else.
Irish Cat Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 Old Hickory. Hands down the best in Owensboro. Unless you have to have a buffet and then Moonlite would be the choice.
FootballisKing Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 My house; it's the BEST!!!!!! SORRY, The answer is My House Bar and Grill. But after that..... Old Hickory in O'Boro is better than Moonlite, BUT moonlite is not that far off and it is a buffet! Smokehouse is very good. The Kegger in Fulton makes some great ribs.(Are they Still Open?) Bootleg is becoming my favorite around Louisville. Marks Feed Store in L-Ville ain't bad either. I love me some Bar-B-Q. Let me know where this fat boy should go to try some new "Q".
