February 14, 200917 yr Owensboro Bar-B-Q Festival May 8-9, 2009 If you really like Bar-B-Que... I am thinking about attending with some BGPers! International Bar-B-Q Festival Best described as "two days of barbecue heaven", the International Bar-B-Q Festival fills the downtown riverfront with the aroma of hickory-smoked chicken, pork, beef and mutton. Live bands perform on three stages. The festival includes carnival rides, numerous vendor booths, pageants, a car show, backyard barbecue competitions, and so much more. http://www.bbqfest.com You forgot to mention the Beer Garden.
February 15, 200917 yr Granny Pigs Bar B Q, you can find the guy set up at festivals or car shows some times down in Southeast, KY. It's the best Bar B Q hands down the meat has great smoke flavor and great homemade sauce.

February 15, 200917 yr Wood Shed in Hopkinsville, Knoth's BBQ in Kuttawa, and Knock-um Hill in Christian County are good. The Pioneers Club in Hopkinsville also makes good BBQ.

Where is the Knoth's in Kuttawa? We occasionally stop in Kuttawa on our way to Murray State University to visit our daughter. I know where the Day's Inn/Hampton Inn exit is located and I know the Cracker Barrell exit off of Interstate 24! Thanks in advance! We are always looking for some good local place to eat at, instead of the chain type places.....

It's not real far from Patti's if your familar with that establishment.
February 15, 200917 yr What's the name of the place on WKY Parkway that's in a parking lot of a gas station there just off the highway? I ordered the pulled pork and fries and had 2 large containers STUFFED full, and that was only 1 order! YUMMY!!

February 17, 200917 yr Having grown up just south of Memphis in Mississippi and nothing can beat the Memphis style BBQ and just about any establishment in the Memphis area has better BBQ than any place I've had in KY. And for the record I think Moonlight is overrated Man, I just sounded like a BBQ elitist
February 17, 200917 yr The best KY BarB-Q I ever had was from Mountain Barb-Q. I am not sure where they are from but they used to come up every year to NKY for the MaiFest and Octoberfest events down in the Mainstrasse. Does anyone know if they are truly from the Mountains of KY and whether or not they have an actual restaraunt?
