Junior is baseball in Seattle, and I'd love to see him return there, if he's going to play again next year. $5 million seems too steep, though. Didn't Bobby Abreu just sign a 1 year, $5 million deal w/ the Angels?
February 12, 200917 yr It would be a great decision by the GM & Owners, too. Seattle is one of the top 4 (or so) teams on my list that would be relocated. Bringing Junior "home" would prevent this, IMO.

February 12, 200917 yr I'm guessing Griffey has nowhere else to go ... Rumor had it that the Braves were somewhat interested, or at least inquired about Junior. I agree wholeheartedly; however, Junior means a lot to that city. In all honesty, I don't think you can understand it unless you've been there. I was there for the Reds series a few years back and it was pretty special. I'm a big Junior fan, but they love "The Kid" out there.

February 13, 200917 yr If Abreu is only getting a 1/$5M contract what would Griffey expect to get? He wants that exact contract. He is probably worth that with all the fans he will still put in the seats.
