February 14, 200917 yr And missing 50% of his team's games due to injury. As a dad I'd be afraid to take my son to see him after telling him how great he was and then having the current Junior be what he remembers.
February 16, 200917 yr What if he's only hitting .240 and not a lot of pop? The last time Junior returned to Seattle as a Cincinnati Red, the Mariner's sold out (or came very close) all 3 games. They'd definitely see an increase in attendance. They'd see an increase in jersey sales. It may not last, but it'd help. And it'd restore some excitement about the team, even though Junior's nowhere near the talent that he used to be.
February 16, 200917 yr I wouldn't mind seeing Griffey in Atlanta for the right price. He'd be splitting time with Diaz most likely from what I hear.

February 17, 200917 yr Honestly, I'd be surprised if Griffey's ego would let him play at this price. First, he really doesn't have much of a choice, and secondly, money isn't an issue with Griffey Jr. He will be making $5 million per year from the Reds over the next several years.

He has a lot to prove. I think he'll hit 20-25 runs, and drive in 75-80 runs. A heck of a bargain at 1.5 million.

Not too sure what he has left to prove at this point. He'll be hard-pressed to turn in those numbers if he is indeed going to be a part-time player.
February 17, 200917 yr Not too sure what he has left to prove at this point. He'll be hard-pressed to turn in those numbers if he is indeed going to be a part-time player. I think that he wants to show people that he still has something left. If he hits like he is capable of, he will play a lot.

February 17, 200917 yr I wish he would finish a Red...That's just what I would like to see... I wouldn't. He was a big part of why the Reds haven't had a winning season in 10 years.
