Did anyone else see Phoenix on Letterman tonight? He seemed like he completely out of it. There is a short clip of it on the following link...

At first it seemed like he was playing a game. However, I don't think he was in the right state of mind, putting it nicely..

Dave is hilarious. He handled the situation as good as anyone possibly could and had everyone rolling with the last comment.

 

Phoenix must be on drugs.

The last bit of the click is really funny! He was getting mad. I love when Dave said he'd come to his house and chew gum. Not sure what to think of this one.

Funny when Letterman ended it by saying they owed an apology to Farrah Fawcett (previously ridiculed by Letterman for giving a bizarre interview). Something ain't right with ol' Phoenix.

I thought the best part was when Letterman said,

 

"Sorry you couldn't be here tonight" talking to Joaqin. :lol:

Reading some clips and comments on the page provided by HB20, a lot of people were under the impression that this was staged to set up some comedy act down the road, only Letterman wasn't let in on it.

I dont think he could have been that bad if he had been on drugs. That had to have been deliberate!!

That is what I was thinking watching the clip. That looked deliberate on Phoenix's part. Strange though!

Watching that, I couldn't help but think of the clip below. Joaqin has nothing on this guy....

 

That was some of the funniest stuff I have heard in awhile. When he said he wanted to come on the show to do his music and Dave said "that's not likely" I lost it.

I am not sure if it was an act or if he was under the influence, but that was strange. Letterman handled it well.
