Let's be honest, how many times have YOU seen him play. He is not "without a doubt" better than Jodie Meeks right now, no way.

Yes he is...

Agreed, but that still doesn't determine who is better.

Usually the best all around player is the better player.

I've watched ASU play around 6 or 7 times. He's better than Meeks without question in my mind. He can do it all. Meeks is very one dimensional IMO. Harden is not.

Meeks does what he has to for his team. Who else is going to score for them? I didn't even know ASU had been on TV six or seven times. Harden will be a higher draft pick and will have a better career at the next level, I just don't see him being a lot better than Jodie Meeks right now. Meeks can make a very good case for 1st team All-American.

True....

Yeah, I don't see how that matters....

Yeah that couldn't had anything to do with his team losing to one of the worst teams ever in the SEC...

One dimensional? Did you watch the game yesterday? They were talking about how good Meeks was on defense....Lets face it, Meeks is the best 2G In the nation, Hands down...Wanna disagree? How many 2 Guards have a plan against them, to where the focus completely on one player, but nevermind the fact that one of the best big men in the country is down low..

How about looking at it like this....Calathes took 14 shots and accounted for 42 of Florida's points. Meeks took 24 and accounted for 51 of UK's. Which one appears to be more efficient?

:lol::lol::lol::lol:

Thats the most ridiculous justification I've ever seen in my life.

If you really want to play that way, you have to count every time Calathes passed to a player and that played MISSED. You're giving him credit for other players makes, but not their misses. You can't talk efficiency and only show half the picture.

Usually the best all around player is the better player.

I took it as "better all-around" meaning he can do more things on the court. Jodie scores, and scores like heck. Just because Nick does more things, doesn't make him a better player.

What does? A win?...If so, the argument ends here...

The entire stat line. When you take assists, points, and rebounds into consideration, they were very similar games. I never once said Calathes had a better game, just that it was comparable, which it was.

If we are going to look at the entire stat line then look at shooting percentages too.

 Apparently you've never seen James Harden play.

He is a heck of a defensive player when he wants to be. Problem is there have been way to many times that he gets beat off the bounce, goes for a steal and gets burned, or is just completely out of position.

Seriously, you guys need to stop letting the fact that Meeks plays for UK cloud your judgement. If he played on any other team, we wouldn't be having this arguement.

Player Of The Week: Jodie Meeks, Jr., G, Kentucky Wildcats

This was the toughest week to choose a player.

Hasheem Thabeet of Connecticut and Blake Griffin of Oklahoma had season-best performances Saturday. But those performances weren't as significant as what Meeks did for the Wildcats.

Kentucky was reeling. The Wildcats had lost three in a row, including two straight at Rupp Arena, and were on the verge of a third consecutive defeat, this time to rival Florida. Meeks carried the Wildcats. He hit a fadeaway 3-pointer with less than five seconds remaining. Nick Calathes of the Gators missed the front end of a three-shot foul with less than a second remaining, and Kentucky escaped with a 68-65 win.

But Meeks' inside balance, Patrick Patterson, hurt his ankle in the Florida game. He couldn't play on the road against Arkansas. No Patterson could easily have meant trouble for Kentucky. Sure, Arkansas was without suspended point guard Courtney Fortson, but the Wildcats could have wilted on the road. They didn't, simply because of Meeks. He carried them with 45 points, making 17 of 24 shots and seven of 12 3s. Meeks had a combined 68 points in two of the most important wins for Kentucky this season.

Florida's shocking loss at Georgia meant the Gators slipped a game behind Kentucky, South Carolina and Tennessee in the SEC East standings. Had Meeks not rescued Kentucky against the Gators, the Wildcats conceivably could've continued their slide, spun completely out of the division race and lost their chance at an NCAA berth. Six games remain for the Cats -- three at home, three on the road -- and now they matter because of Meeks' week.
