Thats the most ridiculous justification I've ever seen in my life.

If you really want to play that way, you have to count every time Calathes passed to a player and that played MISSED. You're giving him credit for other players makes, but not their misses. You can't talk efficiency and only show half the picture.

I agree it's not a very good case, but neither is saying Calathes had the worst shooting percentage on his team yesterday. So what? It doesn't change the fact that he only took 14 shots, and had a hand in 42 of his teams points.

 Apparently you've never seen James Harden play.

He is a heck of a defensive player when he wants to be. Problem is there have been way to many times that he gets beat off the bounce, goes for a steal and gets burned, or is just completely out of position.

Seriously, you guys need to stop letting the fact that Meeks plays for UK cloud your judgement. If he played on any other team, we wouldn't be having this arguement.

That's a joke. Jodie takes over game just as Harden does. He has scoring games of 54, 46, and 45 this year. When's the last time you have seen that at a major level program? Meeks has receieved a lot of national attention this season, probably more than Harden. Is the national media biased towards UK?

One dimensional? Did you watch the game yesterday? They were talking about how good Meeks was on defense....Lets face it, Meeks is the best 2G In the nation, Hands down...Wanna disagree? How many 2 Guards have a plan against them, to where the focus completely on one player, but nevermind the fact that one of the best big men in the country is down low..

He is not a great defensive player, and honestly I never heard that until the UT game this year when Hillbilly Vitale (aka Jimmy Dykes) started saying that. He is an average defender, that is a good at getting in the passing lanes. I can remember everyone complaining about his defense early in the season.

Meeks is also a below average ball handler and a poor distributer. Therefore, I don't know that you can say he is the best two guard in the nation, hands down. He is the best scoring two guard, although he probably gets a lot more looks than most 2 guards too.

The most amazing part to me is that he average 8 as a frosh and 8 as a sophamore. He has tripled his output.

If we are going to look at the entire stat line then look at shooting percentages too.

Any reasonable fan can see that there can be a good argument made either way when comparing Meeks to Calathes or Harden.

I agree 100%....But Last year Crawford and Bradley was here, Both could score, And Meeks was hurt....As a frosh, Just look who UK had

Meeks is a great defensive player

I'm not even sure how you could say anything otherwise. It has been noted in basically every game of the season that he is Kentucky's best defensive player. Meeks is also the most explosive 2G in the country, as well. I think Meeks is an All-American if he finishes out the season the way he has performed thus far. One thing to look at is where the Cats would be without Meeks.

That's fine, Calathes has better %'s for the season and for the last 5 games....

OK.. this is your idea. Since UF shot 48.5% yesteday, Nick would have had to make 27 passes to players who shot to get his 13 assists.

That puts Nick at 41 shots for 42 points.

Kentucky shot 51.9% so Jodie had to make 4 passes.

So thats 28 shots for 49 points.

Jodie - 1.75 points per shot

Nick - 1.02 points per shot

That's fine, Calathes has better %'s for the season and for the last 5 games....

I think Meeks and Harden are on one level and Calathes is a step or two below that leve. JMO.

That's fine, Calathes has better %'s for the season and for the last 5 games....

Meeks is better from the arc and at the line. Solid argument.

James Harden plays in the PAC-10. They never get any media attention.

How can you even compare the two, when you yourself said you haven't seen Harden play much?

Except for 3P% and the oh so important FT%.

I also love that you're picking the "last 5" that just so happen to include 3 of Jodie's worst games of the year. Quite convenient for your argument.

Saying that we are arguing for Jodie only because he plays for UK is a JOKE.

No he's not. Have you watched Harden play?
