The youth camp went great, there were at least 70 kids there tonight. There are some good players entering the Jr High this year, and many of them have grown and matured quit a bit. We now have 28 8th graders playing and 29 7th graders playing, we just bought 60 new jerseys and we are about out, that is a great problem to have. I look for the Jr High team to have a very good season.

 

The younger kids looked great as well, some fine looking young players, and a lot of them.

 

The coaches did a great job of teaching, this was not just a show up and play kind of camp, there was teaching of football. The varsity coaches know which side of their bread is buttered, and they are doing a good job of making sure there is plenty of bread to go around.

First of all, welcome to bgp J.S. and the above "other stuff" was just some good natured "jabs" amoung friends, nothing more....nothing less. I am sure there wil be more talk about the teams/scrimmages/practice/ games as the season grows closer and the workouts/camps get going.

I believe that the people/fans on here would be glad to discuss whatever you may want to. :thumb:

Thank you. Nothing worse than someone trying to stir the pot and have people speaking negative words. Coach Hoof and staff run a clean, old fashion program and the best player plays.......period. I have been around them for only 3 years but that is the way it is, no exceptions.

No pot stirring here. No one claiming the Rams have anything but a clean, old fashion, yada yada program. It was a simple question, not aimed at raising your paranoia. I know that there are 2 kids vying for the spot. One from the hometown, one a transplant. Just a question, plain and simple. I've talked to a few of the players this summer that have questions/opinions of their own.

I agree, but this is a little different situiation doc, you are probably right, until the starter has a bad game or two. No team is above a QB debate. You know as well as I do the people in the stands are the ones who start things like that. That being said, If the starter doesnt have a bad game then there is no problem.

This is the exact kind of crap that take a very good team and makes them an average team. And if the fans and parents won't allow the coaches to make the "Team Decisions", then I hope the coaches put those parents/fans in their place fast, in a hurry, and quick.

 

If you have a problem with the way the coaches do things, go to them and talk about it, but don't try to divide a team by pushing a private agenda in a public setting.

Competition breeds better play, and more desire to get better for gamenight:thumb:. I'm glad to see someone else gunning for the spot. Pushes, and motivates players to go beyond what they normailly would if they didn't have that competition! Not to mention if one goes down the ability to stepup and take the position is there.

Oh, I've spoken with the coaches at Raceland on numerous occasions. Great guys. I ask a question and this is the response I get. Semantics if you ask me. I suppose an answer is out of the question. Good luck this season Rams.

I've never been a fan of the "passive aggressive" style of point making. I've always leaned more toward the "just say what it is that you have to say" style.

 

But, to each their own.

Will the player that comes in 2nd in the QB competition move to another position and play, or will they strictly remain the 2nd string QB?
