What position will Brian Caudill play this season. I assume LB on defense. I'm looking forward to watching him play. He's a great kid and a big ole' boy!!

I would venture to say he will one the OL this year, he has the size and strength to be a very good lineman. On defense he is in between, he could be a MLB, or he could be a DT. I personally think he would be more of an impact at DT, with his quickness.

Assuming Barr is as good as advertised, Who do you guys see getting the nod for the other RB spot?

Cody Kelley. But, expect to see some of the RB to be played by committee. There are several very good RB's. Barr, Kelley, Michael Litteral, Ralph Burchett, Jett Troxler, and Dylan Skaggs. You will see more then two.

The way I see it, if Rister is the starter, I think Farley will remain the back up. If Farley is the starter, I think Rister will be the back up and play WR. Marcus Reed will be a second or third string QB and WR.

 

Actually, to date, Rister is only taking reps at QB. Farley is taking reps at QB, fullback and at the Y. Sorry, the slot receiver.

I just performed his physical yesterday and he is really in shape this year! He was running the entire dead period and it is paying off during lifting and conditioning. 6'1" and 213lbs. Looks good!!!

No, you haven't missed anything. There is no controversy. Coach will play the one who produces, simple as that.

This is the exact kind of crap that take a very good team and makes them an average team. And if the fans and parents won't allow the coaches to make the "Team Decisions", then I hope the coaches put those parents/fans in their place fast, in a hurry, and quick.

If you have a problem with the way the coaches do things, go to them and talk about it, but don't try to divide a team by pushing a private agenda in a public setting.

 

 

:thumb::thumb: I have witnessed that kind of stuff tear down and destroy teams at several places in the past and I don't think that anyone has to do alot of guessing as to the several places are that I am talking about. I don't think it will happen at Raceland, at least I would certainly hope not. No one is imune to it but I believe there are more than a just a few around "Ramblerville" that would put an end to it.

 

To sum it all up..............."Let the players play the game, the coaches coach the game, support both with all you have or stay home" :ohbrother:...............is that puting it in simple enough terms :idunno:?....any questions :idunno: ?............... Whichever QB Raceland picks, I hope their fans realize that they have a couple of tough games coming out of the gate this year...at Boyd County and at Ashland. It's probably not the QB's fault should Raceland lose one or both of those games.

Will the player that comes in 2nd in the QB competition move to another position and play, or will they strictly remain the 2nd string QB?

 

I have not talked to any coaches on anything and have no "inside info" but I would think that if whoever is not a QB should be able to help the team from another position then then they will be on the field. Part of good coaching imo is to put the best athletes that you have on the field in a position where they can sucseed and help the team sucseed. I feel that is what will happen.

How is Boyd County looking this year? I haven't heard a lot about them. They lost the QB Wilson, right? He was a good player. I just wonder if they will be the favorites on August 22nd or not.

I tell you what, though...if Raceland beats Ashland at Putnam Stadium again coming out of the gate this year, then it is becoming clear that the football program at Raceland is really becoming something special.

 

If you can lose the area sportsman of the year in Boyles, two fast and powerful backs in Denton and Carver, one of the best linemen to come through the area in a while in Logan, and the enormous Swede and STILL go beat one of Ashland's best teams in a while, then that is really making a statement.
