With the possible exception of Bluto, I'll agree that LCA is at the head of the class. I wouldn't count the Rams out. It's always a battle between those two teams. One of the best high school games I have seen in some time at Raceland last season.:thumb:

I think Raceland will be the favorites in every game on their schedule except for Ashland and Lexington Christian. What do you guys think?

 

Honestly Ryan, I do not know. There seems to be a lot of potential and a lot of talented guys. They have been exposed to the Friday night lights but in a clean up roll. Can they step up and be leaders? If so, yes, we could be in the roll of fovorite more times than not. If no, then it could be a .500 type season.

Something should be said for you Raceland fans who have kept this thread near the top for the entire off-season. I must say that you have pulled me in as I enjoy reading and posting about the Raceland team with you, even though I don't get to see them play very often because I go to Russell's games. The only thread with more replies is the Greenup County thread and that was boosted by a coaching change! With supporters like yourselves combined with a very good coaching staff, I agree that the pieces are in place for Raceland to have a good run for a few years.

Something should be said for you Raceland fans who have kept this thread near the top for the entire off-season. Nice try. But I have to say that Russell may be the favorite in that game, at the minimum I would say it would be a draw in the pre-game prognostication.

Thanks for the kind works, we just love Raceland football. I know Russell has a great following as well, that says a lot about the two programs. I know that I, as well all the other Ram fans, wish Russell luck in every game, except for that one, and I know that most of the Russell fans feel the same way.

I honestly am not ready to go out on that limb yet. Russell is still Russell and will always have talent, that is fact along along with a great staff headed by a legendary HO.F. KY. h.s. coach will be tough for the Rams to to beat. Also, Greenup Co. has a new coach coming from a strong program/tradition and has renewed enthusiasm, the "Muskies" are going to suprise some people. Boyd Co. could and probably will also be tough, we have therm on the road as well. I look for Fairview to be pretty good, they are very well coached and I have heard are looking pretty good. Paris always has athletes, East Carter has been a thorn in our back side more than once. I have no idea about Fleming Co..

What I am saying is that if the Rams do not come out to play each and every time out then we will go home with a loss.

I am just ready to get things going,...... still have bad taste in my mouth from the regional title game last fall.

We have to play every game like it's the last! That's the way it's always been for Raceland and always will be. We have to come out of the gates hard this year. Playing both Boyd Co. and the Tomcats our first two games. And keep up the pace and improve for district play.

With all our inexperience I could see us 0-3 before we even play a home game. We could be 1-4 before we play a District game. It may be safe to assume 4-6 record going into the playoffs. I hope not, but it is a possibility.

Doc, you could very well be right. This team has talent and potential but we still need to see how they step up in taking the lead role instead of coming in when the game is basically decided before we crown them a good team.

I think they possibly could be a good team but that remains to be seen. Hopefully they will work like previous teams before them worked and step it up to a leaders role.
