God, when was the last time HC beat CCH?? This used to be a rivalry in the mid-90's.

 

I'd say if HC is ever going to beat CCH it would have to be this year.

Cov. Cath - Holy Cross have played some classics since 2000. In the first round of the 2006 Districts in Latonia, Holy Cross came very close to eliminating the Colonels. There was a line of 200-300 people waiting for the doors to open. The gym was full about 20 minutes after the doors opened. Steenken, Scruggs, Ryan, Busse, Lantry a young Sorrell off the bench vs. Tierney, Jacobs, Young, Noll, Bovard, and a strong bench led by Schult. A great, great game. The toughest game Cov. Cath. played in route to the 9th Region title. The Indians may not have beat the Colonels since 2000 but they have played them tough.

Well the seniors feel as if they need a shot at redmeption, so they willl be there at about 2:45 to start the pre game festivities. Everyone else will be there by no later than 5. But I'm serious, you better be ready and if you dont like noise, bring some ear buds.

Don't forget the Randy Myers 8 foot layup at the buzzer in 05. HC had the ball for the last shot, Bibbins penetrated and either had it blocked or missed, scramble for the ball, Myers gets it and takes off and shoots from about 6 or 8 feet out with a running layup at the buzzer.

 

Quite the scene as the entire student body rolled out to congratulate him.

Last year's District game was strong as well. Gutsy performance by Sorrell who threw down 28 against his former teammates.

I'll go ahead and declare that Holmes vs. Holmes is indeed a toss up.

 

Are you crazy, there is no way that Holmes can beat Holmes. Pitman will dunk at will over Pitman, and Holmes is too long and athletic to for Holmes to keep it close. And by the way, who has Holmes played all year to make you think that Holmes can be as good as Holmes, and out of state competition does not count.
