I agree Thelen would be a huge boost, but you say this before every Holy Cross game. How many big guys have dominated Holy Cross this year? Hardly any... HC's defense helps so much it's almost impossible for a big guy to really dominate them.

Are you kidding about the Kowolonek statement? He had him locked up all night. Most of Kowolonek's eight came off of Grote getting into the lane and Romes helping so he'd dish to Kowolonek.

 

I remember someone mentioning Fortner as a starter against Beechwood which is the only reason I brought him up. I honestly couldn't name more than 3 starters for HC.

Egan can guard him down low. If you disagree then lets look back at the Holmes game when Egan shut down the number one player in the Junior class Pittman.

If they dont move to zone then Giwa has his way. Look for a couple Technicals Wellbrock and Egan will be a battle.

 

CCH has played some pretty tough PGs this year and they didn't play much man-to-man. Add in that HC doesn't have the offensive weapons that these other teams did and it will allow CCH to sag defensively (see Miss St against Patterson).

If Wellbrock were to score 40 it would match his season total. They don't run much for Wellbrock he gets what he gets by cleaning up missed shots.

One thing that most won't expect is HC trying to take advantage of Giwa in transition. If CovCath misses shots the Indians will look to get it ahead to Giwa and let him push to try to get a 1 on 1 or 1 on 2 situation in the open court where he thrives. When CovCath scores Holy Cross will still slow it down and be very patient, but I see them utilizing the fast break more often tomorrow night when it's there.

 

As a CCH fan, I'm not overly concerned about Giwa in the halfcourt offense. I'm extremely concerned about his ball pressure , cutting off passing lanes, and getting out on breaks.

If one of them wanted to be smart they would keep there cool get in the others head and get them in foul trouble but i do not see that happening. Both are very agressive and hot headed.:madman:

 

Uh, many CCH fans would love to see #25 become aggressive. Its his #1 downfall.

The most he scores in the half court is honestly when he's posting up other guards. CovCath shouldn't really have a problem stopping HC on defense. Both teams just need to worry about how they will score.

What game were you watching? Everyone collapsed on Pittman anytime he got the ball down low, hence Riley and Rico having such big games from out on the arc. The only time Egan guarded Pittman straight up was when he didn't have the ball or when Pittman had the ball out on the arc.

 

Would love to see CCH pull out the victory to see a Holmes/HC rematch. That's the only way those two will meet up again IMO....:sssh:

What mysteryman ment to say is every single game HC has played this year you have said the big man would beat HC. Its never the case. Example, you said Smith is too tough for HC and last night Egan got into Smith's head and Smith fouled out and had 3 points..
