Well sure Holmes is still the team to beat, but you act like the Scott game was just a fluke. The Scott game I think has opened people's minds because now everyone knows that Holmes can be beat. You are always acting like Holmes is a team that can't be beat. They are a very good team, but also a beatable team.

Quit defending them so hard it's ok for people to say they are beatable... they are high school kids they are going to have games where they aren't there mentally. More than likely we will be seeing Holmes at Rupp and I think everyone in this area will be cheering for them to bring a state title back.

I've never once said they were unbeatable...just stating facts. Scott played well that game but honestly Holmes not playing well and beating themselves by throwing the ball away had a lot to do with Scott even keeping the game close.

Yet you defended them because someone said that they are beatable. Anyways back to the game... After thinking about the matchups more I'm thinking this game has the potential to be an instant classic. Biggest key for HC is to keep Maile off the offensive glass, and biggest key for CovCath is to handle the defensive pressure on the guards.

He may be top notch guarding DIII kids but honestly he wasn't too impressive against either Rico of Holmes or Kowolonek of Highlands on the defensive end. Rico had his way with him and Kowolonek (when he actually got the ball), got in the lane at will as Romes was a step to slow.

I can't wait to see if Eta Rho can figure out a way to be at both the Highlands vs. Holmes and Cov Cath vs. Holy Cross games tonight. It will be like the episode of Batman where Bruce Wayne had to attend a charity event and had Alfred put on the cape and cow. Tune in tonight. Same Bat time. Same Bat station.

There's more to the game than just scoring. It might not show in his point total, but Rico had a pretty solid game against Beechwood. Rico had 8 points, 6 rbs, 3 steals, and 3 assists. He got to the rim at will against Romes but just couldn't finish. Anyone who was there will tell you he missed a lot of open shots. A lot of Romes points against Holmes were in transition and wide open lay ups and came late in the game when Holmes had the game wrapped up and Rico went to the bench. Romes also had no steals and just 3 rebounds...two pretty important stats when it comes to defense.

All that I can say to all of you is this.... be ready for the old school colonel crazies! Tomorrow night will be their coming out night and will be there for the team the rest of the way. The seniors at school are really going nuts and pumping this game up a whole lot. Be ready for the colonels 6th man to rock that gym and I'm not even kidding around

 

I am sure HC will be there as well.
