Ex Cawood Coach John Luttrell

It does my heart good to know that my friend (Lungbuster) goes all out to tell the world about the greatness of a former Dragon. :thumb: Keep spreading the word, we are not so bad after all.

He got you on that one Lungbuster.

Best of luck to Coach Luttrell and Estill Co. Maybe he will continue to use one of Cawood High School's former standouts as an assistant. I hear he has done very well at Estill Co. :D

I still cant remember what his nickname was in high school. Most of the other kids called him "sir." lol He was a rapid cat but I still dont think he can beat me in ping-pong!! What was his name??

The TOASTER!!! During his last year the coaching staff tinkered with letting him run the ball in short yardage situations, hince the toaster was born.

His greatness is a direct link to him being from Loyall Jr. High, which is still in the County last I checked! lol He had such a good guidance from K-8th grade that even the 4 years of the green couldn't mess him up!

You throw the word Friend around carelessly don't you!

All those years at Cawood didn't hurt.

Just trying to be nice, and I agree that Loyall was the foundation of his rise, I as well is one proud Indian, so I know what greatness came from that end of the county. Now before you go off the deep end I am not referring to myself.

Loyall produced a lot of great athletes for both Cawood and Harlan in the 70s and 80s.

Who are some of those athletes?

Grant, Parks, M Williams, Fox, Lester, Luttrell, Thomas bros, Collins, Miniard, Alred, thats ten just off the top of my head, and all of these played college ball.

Bryan Barrett was probably the county's all-time best kicker and a pretty good baseball player.

As for other sports:

Greg Coldiron was an all-state basketball player and could have been a baseball prospect if he had stuck with it.

Phil Cox won a few awards, too.

From what he said the entire staff will still be there next year.

I don't believe that will be the case.
