On a side note, I have never been to the Nicholas County gym. What's it like? I thought about driving over tonight, but took the family to Morehead late this afternoon and got back too late.

Nicholas County will be getting a new gym soon.

 

It will be located right next door to the present facility.

There is only 1 concession stand and the potties are not pretty at all! There was a packed house last night with most of the crowd being from Mt. Olivet. If Calvary Christian's game plan was to get the Deming 5 in foul trouble, then with the help of the refs, their game plan worked. Another note, someone in the Calvary Christian's cheering section blew a very high pitched whistle when the Deming kids shot free throws. It took the refs, until 2:00 left in the 4th quarter to make an announcement about it. I know that noise makers are against KHSAA regulations, this should have been addressed sooner. I was also disappointed with the team of refs that was sent in to handle this game, one of which is commonly seen refereeing elementary school games in Maysville, working for St. Patrick. I would have thought that a game of this caliber would have been a priority for the more experienced refs. Where was Eric Thornsbury, Bart Lennox or even Bo Queen for goodness sake, Bo worked the game against Brossart the night before. :irked:

You are funny. Are you trying to say that just because the top officials werent calling this game, that caused Deming to lose? Be serious, the horrible free throw shooting caused the Black Devils demise. And besides, you dont even like Bo Queen, from reading your posts on here. I thought they done a good job

Between college games and the Toyota Classic I would imagine most officials were pretty busy yesterday.

Bo actually worked the second semi-finals game the night before. He called the Calvary-St. Patrick game. We would have welcomed him in the first semi-finals game that night.

I think this solidifies that the 37th district is by far the toughest in the region! Although I think most already agreed with this before hand.

Not sure you should compare King to Flanagan or talk of earning respect, not to take away from Calvary Christian, they played their hearts out, BUT King did attempt to duplicate his game last night, just as he has every game. The majority of the crowd and teammates can easily see this, why does Coach Johnson continue to allow ME BALL. Who knows when Deming will get an opportunity like they had last night again. If someone doesn't open their eyes and do something about this, district will be no different.

It was a great game. I went down to Nicholas County to see this one. I actually was only 1 of 4 to pick Calvary in this. Calvary will represent the 10th well. They weren't the team in the 37th I thought would go, but they are a very good team.
