January 26, 200917 yr I was talking to my Dr. this morning and he told me that there was a study on people that lost more than 40lbs. or 15% of your body weight. That after 5 years 98% gained their weight back. He said that for the worst kind of cancer that a person can have, has better odds for a success rate than keeping the weight loss off. Did he give any reason why this is true? I know it is because it has happened to me too many times. Did he given any solutions other than wiring my mouth shut?
January 26, 200917 yr Did he give any reason why this is true? I know it is because it has happened to me too many times. Did he given any solutions other than wiring my mouth shut? I suppose it's true becasue in this day and time, food is to easy to get. You turn on the TV and it's commercial after commercials on food making you hungry. You drive to work and pass one after another....on places to eat. The only solution is to change you eating habits for the rest of your life. I've said I'm going to, but doing it is a different thing. All I want right now is good health (which I have) and to be able to fit in the same size jeans as when I was in high school. If it's only for a summer, I'll take it, and deal with what happens later. I ask the Doc about yo yo diets. Losing and gaining it back. Was if bad for you? His reply was that it has not be proven to be bad for you. This week I am doing great........6 pounds and counting (17 total)! and can now fit in some jeans that where too tight on Jan.1. That's one size closer to my goal.
January 26, 200917 yr Great Going, Rebel, keep up the good work, I've only lost 1 pound this past week but I'm ok with it. I need to exercise but man it's hard to do.:walk:

That's what I'm talking about! Always good to read some encouraging things in this thread...
January 27, 200917 yr I'll be weighing in for the first time on Tuesday. To be fair, I'll use that as my starting weight.Well, my first weigh in was canceled due to snow. I know that sounds funny, but I was supposed to have minor surgery today. Getting all prepared and then having it not happen is really aggravating. Plus, I really wanted to find out that weight. :irked:
January 27, 200917 yr That's what I'm talking about! Always good to read some encouraging things in this thread... I'm going to be, one of the 2% to keep it off. Which side you going to be on? There's room for a few more.
January 27, 200917 yr I've never dieted during the winter until this year. I naturally lose 15-20 pounds during the summer due to the heat and sports I play. I'm hoping that dieting during the winter will be the key to me keeping the weight off.
January 29, 200917 yr My weigh in will not be pretty this week. The power is out at our house and they are saying it could be out until February 4th. I'll be living out of a hotel room and eating fast food for a few days.
January 29, 200917 yr Gym being closed the past two days along with school has hurt lol. I've been stuck in the house since Sunday and I know I have gained back pounds, getting out today:dancingpa and hopefully walking around Wally world will help me feel better.
January 30, 200917 yr Author My roommate went to Bdubs to get some cheap boneless wings and it took everything in me to just sit here lol.
January 30, 200917 yr Gym being closed the past two days along with school has hurt lol. Especially seeing as how I knew this was coming and stocked up on some adult beverage before hand.

Just the opposite for me. I was stuck inside and actually lost a couple pounds. The inability to eat fast food these past few days probably helped me out a lot.
