Best Place To Purchase Gas:

So this might seem weird/nerdy to some but I've always paid attention to my mileage and always know at what mileage how much fuel I still have in the tank, just one of those weird habits that hasnt gone away. While going to school at NKU I usually fill up at Thortons, but at home I usually go to a Shell or Wal-Mart(if I have a gift card). But my point is that when I get gas at Thortons it seems my tanks always goes down quicker and I dont get as much mileage out of it like I do at pervious mentioned gas stations. So heres my poll question, out of the major gas stores which do you feel like you get more for your money? If other please mention which station as I just used the ones of the top of my head right now!

But I know for a fact this gas station down in Lexington that is usually the cheapest makes my tank go empty quicker than it usually does.

I usually go to S[eedway but now that we have a Kroger with gas by us, I go there b/c I get it 10 cents cheaper than the normal.

Is it true that Thornton's gas is watered down or something? I know it is always at least one cent cheaper which usually suckers me.

Usually Speedway for me, just because there's one right at the edge of my neighborhood.

I have heard that too, I wanna say Shell but I am not sure either lol.

Speedway in Cynthiana is always first to raise their prices, so thats why I either go to Exxon, Sonoco, or Shell. I get the best mileage out of Shell.

My engine runs better and thus I get better mileage by using Shell. The cheap gas while it is indeed better for my wallet, the engine of my car just doesn't seem to run as will with them as with Shell.

Years ago a friend in the fuel business told me to never buy gas at thorntons and I continue to take his advice.

Have had many many people tell me and I believe it as well that they've heard Kroger gas gives you 5% less gas mileage. I go to Speedway, Marathon or BP, I prefer BP.

BP for me. No particular reason; just got in the habit of filling up at our local BP station.

A couple of things that are very noticeable to us Jefferson County folks...One, our gas is re-formulated so that it burns more efficient for the environment...with that re-formulation, we have to sacrifice 2-3 mpg. Now, I live very close to Shelby County, so when I can, I go there to get gas, it is generally cheaper, and I get more MPG...that said, in town I generally go to Kroger, because I get $.10 off every gallon, so that helps. For those that don't frequent a station because it's the first to raise it's prices (which happens to be Speedway in the Louisville market), keep in mind that they are also the first to lower their prices. As much windshield time as I log, you tend to learn a ton of traits about the local fuel market.

Shell seems to have the best. I get terrible mileage when I get Chevron.:mad:
