January 18, 200917 yr Thats it, thanks.:thumb: I'm behind the times on Delites. I know where it is now. I associate it with gyros. I will have to make it a point to try a burger. You're welcome. Now that I've done my good deed for the night, I can turn in with a clear conscience.
January 18, 200917 yr There was a place in Louisville that we stopped at a couple of years ago I believe was called "W.T. Cousins" It was a build your own burger type place. Very good.
January 18, 200917 yr Oh man, good ole Jimbo's. Long gone now. I loved the platter from there. More fries than one person could handle. Back in the day I raced back to Wilson Hall for the good stall more times than I care to remember. To me nothing will ever come close to a Jimbo platter, they were awesome.
January 18, 200917 yr You have to try it. Double Bacon Cheeseburger is the bomb. Their Gyro is great to. I've had the GYRO... pretty tasty.
January 18, 200917 yr From the List - Whopper, followed closely by the Big Boy, however, in Mainstrasse there is Zola's. A great hamburger! They used to have $5 Wednesdays. A full pound of hamburger and french fries or slaw for $5, what a lunch! I haven't been in about 2 years because of job change but now I'm going to have to make the extra effort to get there!
January 18, 200917 yr I thought we were talking strictly about major fast food chains. If we're talking about any burger in general it has to be from the Gruber Grill at a CovCath baseball game. I would eat atleast two or three every game. Without a doubt Marys burgers are legendary in the NKy hs baseball circles. Best part of the start of the high school baseball season, besides watching the games, is eating one of her burgers. If you can make it to a CovCath baseball game, you have to try one of Marys burgers, you and your taste buds will thank me and covcathftball later.....:thumb:
January 19, 200917 yr After reading through this thread,I'll have all of the above with a large order of fries!!!!
January 19, 200917 yr Oh man, good ole Jimbo's. Long gone now. I loved the platter from there. More fries than one person could handle. Back in the day I raced back to Wilson Hall for the good stall more times than I care to remember. We probably shared the same porcelain in Wilson, and I agree that Jimbo's was very good. As far as Bard's, where in Latonia?
January 19, 200917 yr Jimbo's--where else could you get a burger, buy a used car & get you vaccum repaired all in the same place....he also had some type of pawn shop there too, if my memory serves me correctly.
January 19, 200917 yr There used to be a little place in London by the Ford dealership that was VERY good.
January 21, 200917 yr Author Looks like the Big Boy is tops of this bunch, which is what I ended up voting for. They are tasty. Whopper came in a close 2nd. Thanks to everyone for their input.
January 21, 200917 yr I was just thinking, you know the best Burger is the one cook on your own grill.
January 22, 200917 yr I know the owner of Bard's Burger. Super nice man. And I have also heard their burgers are amazing! Have to try it sometimes, though I'm not a big burger fan. Bards is Awesome My son eats a double, large fries and a strawberry shake every time.
