The two best teams don't always play in the baskeball championship, and that's what makes the tournament so special. Football offers none of that. Football has never had a true National Champion in my opinion.
January 5, 200917 yr Tell it to Texas Tech who was drilled by Ole Miss. The CLEARLY two best teams this year are Florida and Oklahoma. If you didn't follow it closely enough, sorry... Someone could watch every game and be VERY wrong. I see it all the time...sometimes on here. :lol:

The same Ole Miss team that beat Florida in The Swamp? I agree that Florida that Oklahoma are probably the two best teams in the country, but I don't feel it's as clear as you think.

Winner of UF/OU takings home the champion both BCS and AP USC lost to an unranked team with a losing record (at the time). They finished the season playing as well as anyone, but that loss killed them and their title hopes. UF lost to Ole Miss who beat another one time title contender in Texas Tech in the postseason and OKL lost to another ranked one time title contender. I think Utah is a good argument for a playoff system. However, unfortunately, I don't see that happening anytime soon. It is a shame, but it is what it is.

A playoff settles it all on the field. We agree 110%. In football, a bad loss KILLS your chances with no playoffs.

I don't like computers deciding the final two teams. There's always controversy. Maybe allow them to choose the teams for an 8 or 16 team playoff. Although #17 might feel they were over looked, it would still be better than it is now.

Their great 4th quarter against the Sooners wasn't enough...I don't know if it was a "complete cupcake" schedule ... it isn't the most impressive lot, but two of those teams won bowl games. Oh, I see the difference ... Oklahoma played Cincinnati. Jeff Sagarin ranks Oklahoma's schedule as the nation's eighth toughest ... Texas is 10th. Gametime, you're now officially BGP's resident BCS Apologist.
