Stimulus Checks

If you don't want or need yours I'll take it:D.
Didn't say I don't want it. Just laughing at the "Barack will push full throttle to resurrect the middle class" comment. As if he's gives a darn, just another politician with anything but our well being in mind.

Which is dumb. You contribute a few grand a year; while going to school, and still get no money. Neither do the people claiming you, that just made no sense to me.

:thumb: College students spend so much time going to school that they don't get to work as much as people not in college. Therefore, they are getting less income but still paying a huge chunk of taxes and get nothing in return. Does not seem fair to me.

My mom just made a comment very similar to yours, when I told her about the possibility of this stimulous check.

Mom sounds like a smart woman to me.:D

Yup, that killed me too, I make a good bit, paid ALOT in taxes last year, and got nothing for it. Yet the idea was to "stimulate the economy". Pretty sure college students would definitely stimulate the economy if you gave them "free money".

I am in the same boat. I work about 25 hours a week and go to school but didn't see a dime, neither did the parentals. Be better off just dropping out of school and working 15 hours a week, I guess.

Dude for years now the government has found it necessary to reward "those less fortunate", which I often refer to as lazy bums; and not those trying to get ahead by going to school and furthering their education. I'm not saying that people that got the checks are lazy, so no one go and post something stupid like that. I'm saying that it's DUMB DUMB DUMB DUMB DUMB DUMB DUMB DUMB, that some 40 year old loser that CHOOSES not to work, get's a check, and a 20 year old that works 30+ hours a week and goes to college full time get's nothing. Just stupid, I don't know about anyone else, but I wrote my congressmen and governor about this stupidity.:irked:

I agree with you here. A lot of college students work 20-25 hours (or more) and week and go to school full time (12-18 hours a term). They earn too much money for aid, however they either still live at home, or try to buddy up with 4 room mates. I feel either the student or the person claiming the student should get a break.

Yeah, right.

You are right Barack has quite a task rebuilding what your guy destroyed. America spoke boldy on Nov 4, 2008. Enjoy the next 4 years.

The same America that elected the president that you despise so much not once, but twice. With your reasoning, it means if anything, that America is STUPID!

All I can say my friend is my hands are clean..... (Also I agree, see the Jeb Bush post).

By not voting? And you've gotta be more specific than "see the Jeb Bush post", man.

 Take off you rose colored glasses, ones as bad as the other. In the end, we get hosed.

Should be interesting to see what happens. I think many think Obama will come in and save the world but not me. I am not that naive. I think if he can get us back on track I will be happy. Bush certainly did more damage than good and nobody can deny that. Hurricane Katrina was his deathwish!!!

I hope Obama succeeds, I really do. but Bush did not destroy the economy. The other 535 'leaders' on the 'hill' had a HUGE hand in this as well. Let's give credit where credit is due and they all played a part in it. In fact, Barney Franks had more to do with the banking collapse than Bush did.

But unlike some of my republican counterparts, I really hope Obama succeeds. To wish otherwise is truly unpatriotic.
