saying he, not Mangini, is the reason the Jets are not in the playoffs. They said he stays to himself when not at practice or games. Saw it scroll across the bottom of the screen during the Capitol One bowl game.

Clearly playing injured doesn't always benefit the team.

"Throwing him under the bus" or speaking the truth? I think it's apparent that quite a few Jets' players were very frustrated in the way Jets' management handled Favre and the manner in which Favre himself interacted (or failed to) with his teammates. If Favre did not have the word "FAVRE" sown on the back of his jersey this year, he would be universally declared a below-average QB and the major cause for the Jets not making the playoffs. It is time for Favre to go and I think you are seeing his teammates hoping like heck he does just that.

Seems Thomas Jones was one of the main players who had something to say about Favre, and frankly...I somewhat agree with him.

I was a fan of Farve's during his days in Green Bay. Then during the off-season's "retire / not retiring I began to feel differently towards him. I think it's a classic case of an athletes EGO getting in the way of clear thinking. I agree, he'll be done. Unfortunately his final year will leave a bad taste in many fans mouths. He'll still be a shoe in for the HOF though.

I just hate to see this. What if Favre comes back? What type of division would there be in the locker room next season? Why push him toward retirement if you are a current Jet? Is Kellen Clements a better option? You think these comments help in gathering coaching candidates?

 

I just don't see the benefit in these comments from the Jets perspective, whether they are true or not.

There is no reason to go public with statements like this. Nothing but bad things can come from it and it is an issue that could have been handled in-house and served the same purpose.

At least Thomas Jones has the cajones to put his name with a quote, I wonder who the anonymous one is? I think it's fair to say that we've seen Favre play his last game, and I hate that he has to go out like this but I can't say he isn't deserving of some criticism.

Farve did have a bad end of the year. But you win as a team and lose as a team. I don't think he was the only one who was responsible for this melt down. Jericho Cotchery wasn't exactly helping Farve out. Jets were nearly one demensional their last 5 games.
