I can't seem to remember, was the Jets a great team and Thomas a player who never made a mistake last year, before Favre? Not!

 

I totally agree, the Jets won 5 games more than they did last year and barely missed the playoffs this year. That is a big turn-around for a football team and you should never point a finger at a team mate anyhow. For one it creatse bad chemistry within the team and you got will always have 3 fingers pointing right back at you.

I think that there is plenty of blame to go around for the Jets collapse. Those who are trying to heap the collapse on Brett did not watch the Jets games down the stretch.

 

Brett gets a bunch of the blame for making a bunch of poor decisions. The receivers get a bunch of blame for dropping the ball a ton in the last five games when Brett got it to them and not getting open like they did in the first 12 weeks. The offensive line gets a bunch of blame for not opening the holes for the run game and not pass blocking as well as they did the first 12 weeks. The coaching staff gets the blame for play calling that was questionable, at best, considering the passing game struggled and the run game and screen game with Leon Washington was working down the stretch; call plays that get your playmakers the ball. The defense gets a bunch of blame for not stepping up and picking up an offense that carried them the first 12 weeks of the season.

 

Brett isn't blameless, but if you watched the games you know that the Jets collapse had a lot of factors and it was far from being all Brett's fault. This is the biggest problem I have with Thomas Jones' comments. He made it sound like only Brett played bad down the stretch. That couldn't be further from the truth.

 

I just feel like keeping this stuff in the locker room is much more constructive than making it public. What good comes from the public comments?

Should have stayed behind closed doors no matter who you think is at fault. I would think it takes everyman on the roster to lose and win! The QB always gets way to much praise when things go well and way to much criticism when things do not go well!

 

Why can't a guy just love to play the game?

Because, he is washed up and I believe Toby Keith did a song about Brett - LET'S TALK ABOUT ME!

Favre definetly missed the boat coming back this year. After 2 sub par years he had a very nice year in 2007, almost taking his team to the NFC championship. Now, rather than having that as the last thing people remember, he'll have this average at best year along with this controversy. Sad.
