My favorite gift was when my mother bought my brother and I a Sega Dreamcast.

We have a tie - Atari game system with several games or the giant Civil War army set. The Civil War set came not only with soldiers but with lots of accessories like fences, cannons etc.... The following year I got the Revolutionary War set which also had accessories like an old house to set the soldiers around. I think these were available straight from the Sears catalog.

My best Christmas present from my childhood was a doll that actually walked! (we're talking '60s here). She was a stiff hard plastic blonde and blue eyed beauty. She had a turquoise blue and pink dress. She did nothing but walk with these stiff legs which only moved at the hip. Unfortunately, her pretend mom of five liked throwing her up in the air and catching her. I missed one fateful day and she crashed onto the sidewalk. I went to my great grandfather, who was my greatest of heroes, in tears. He indeed "doctored" her leg by glueing it on. Of course that meant, she could never walk again!

I think it was 1956, got my first train set, love it.

When I was 3 or 4, my sister and I got doll cribs that were AWESOME! The were miniatures of real cribs, complete with sides that dropped! I'll never forget that Christmas. It was the last in our house that we lived in when I was born.

G.I. Joe was my all-time favorite.

Baseball glove and the Johnny West, GI Joe action figures.

Same here, and a Big Wheel! (And I always did like the Rock 'Em Sock 'Em Robots, too!)

I still have some Johnny West and G.I. Joe figures from when I was a kid.

When I was really tiny, it was it was this clown balloon punching bag thing. But, a lil older was my first real basketball hoop.

I remember when I was about in first grade, my grandmother bought me this HUGE box of about 100 hot wheels cars, and knowing children caring aobut how many more than what it is, she wrapped each car individually. I was so happy to have THAT many presents that I didnt care if it was just wrapping paper, that was my favorite christmas toy of all time.

I had a TMNT themed Christmas when I was 4. Most excited I've ever been for a Christmas and I still watch the home video of it every now and then. Best toy that year was one of those boxing rings with two figures that boxed and the loser's neck extended into the air. (In this case the boxers were Raphael and Splinter) I had fun with that thing for years!

"It's a Raphael, Mom! Santa brought a Raphael toy!!" - Quote of my life

What was everyone's favorite Christmas present when they were growing up.

For me, it was the Evel Knievel stunt cycle/Action figure/Van. I LOVED that toy!

That's so funny because I thought of that toy before I opened this thread. I loved my G.I. Joe + Star Wars stuff. Got a car so that one is tough to beat but as a kid I'd say the G.I. Joe/Star Wars stuff.

Atari was a good call too!

I got a Star Wars Death Star set. That was unreal, it had the garbage compactor and everything--took forever for an 8 year old to set up.

Baseball glove and the Johnny West, GI Joe action figures.

Did he have the kung fu grip? :D

My favorite was the Major Matt Mason moonbase and moon walker.
