Best Backcourt In Kentucky?

Featured Replies

Actually Riley usually draws the opposing team's best defender:

Beechwood- Beuttel

Bryan Station- Morones

Newport- Greene

Scott Co- Guyn

Knox Central- Messer

Ballard- Cox

Sure he benefits from have 3 D1 kids around him in the Johnson Brothers and Pittman, but anyone who has seen Riley play since he was young, knows that this kid has always filled it up. Even before he played with those three. People just didn't have the opportunity to see him showcase his talents until last year against Dixie in the region tournament.

Two points to reiterate:

1. The kid is very talented. I'd take him on my team.

2. You cannot ignore the fact that his man has to play help defense to cut off penetration by Holmes other perimeter players. That leaves him with open looks. Its not like he's creating shots and hitting contested 3s very often. That's not a knock on him. He does what he's supposed to do.

Can anyone tell me if the Faulkner's draw the other teams best defender? I am actually curious.

Depends on who you ask, Mrs. Hoops 69 said in another thread that Ferguson drew the best defender, double teams, chasers, watchdogs, CIA, or something to that effect.

See the post about Riley and the Johnson Brothers/Pittman and you'll see why you haven't gotten a response yet.

Mr. Clyde, as a top notch promoter myself, there's no better promoter in this forum than Mr. Speedy.

Even you know that in order to win the heavyweight title of the world you have to fight the best to be considered the best.

Yes I do, however, I get paid to promote, what's your angle?

Give me a chance to recover from your post citing the CIA. You're too much. What was the top team again that was boxing and chasing?

People tend to just focus on regular season matchups, but the Faulkners and Ferguson have gone head to head against most of these other combinations for years in the summer and come out on top most of the time

There is no one in the state that can match their desire to win, and that's what gives them the edge

Don't bet against them in anything

They have 4 players in the starting lineup that will play in college, outside of Scott County and Holmes, who else can make that statement?

Franklin County with 10....3 basketball, 2 football, 1 cross country, 2 baseball, 1 soccer and 1 golf.

And we have good guards in Hall, Meyer and Hicks. However, for this argument, there are a lot of great players, and I have seen most if not all. As a tandem, I haven't seen anyone that can play at the pace and intensity that the Faulkners play for an entire game. That is what separates them IMO.

Guyn and Jackson have been upstaged already. They lost to Holmes' backcourt. Next.

Which means absolutely nothing about how good they are at their positions.

This argument is like arguing who makes the best pizza. Nothing but opinion, no more,,,no less.

I'm not sure about that but I can say that they normally guard the opposing team's best player.

You could put Ethan and Ferguson together that wouldnt be a bad backcourt.

I agree with that, as well. I think Ferguson will be recruited to play SG in college.
