So you have stats that prove both Faulkner twins are shooting at a more efficient rate than J. Johnson and Riley of Holmes? If not, hard to argue they are better than those two.

Couldn't agree with you more! The things you mentioned along with being the coach on the floor & his pure will to win is what makes Ethan Faulkner the best high school point in the state.

 

PS I wasnt asking for scoring stats on Riley just his 3 pt stats because shooting 84% is really quiet an accomplishment!

JJ is second on the team in rebounds and defensively is probably the best player Holmes has.

 

Riley leads the team in assists, shooting %, and defensively ALWAYS guards the opposing team's best guard.

 

I'd say they're both doing a pretty darn good job at being "All Around Players."

 

Holmes will be in Lexington tomorrow night and Tuesday night. Go watch them play and then give an honest evaluation of them.

Here's my take:

 

The Faulkners are both outstanding players and fit well in to ELLIOT CO'S SYSTEM which is why they succeed the way they do. When comparing them to the other top guards in the state though, it's kind of a no brainer. They just really don't have the same athleticism as the others and don't see the same competition night in and night out as those guys do.

 

I know they play well at the AAU level but then again it goes back to the system they're playing in. When talking individual talent and not team. Those two don't compare to the other combos mentioned, and that's no knock on them because I actually really like the Elliot Co trio and team.

I don't care what they've accomplished, the Elliott backcourt are better at the guard positions, IMO.

Actually both Riley and Johnson have taken over 30 shots this year each in 6 games.

 

BTW, Riley dropped 20 on Ge'Lawn Guyn and was 6-8 shooting in that game... I'd say that's drawing the opposing teams best defender....

 

Sure the Faulkners are averaging 36 ppg combined, but how many shots combined are they taking...that has a lot to do with why Elliot scores so much because of how many shots they take a game.
