People tend to just focus on regular season matchups, but the Faulkners and Ferguson have gone head to head against most of these other combinations for years in the summer and come out on top most of the time

There is no one in the state that can match their desire to win, and that's what gives them the edge

They have 4 players in the starting lineup that will play in college, outside of Scott County and Holmes, who else can make that statement?

 

Tough to use AAU as a guage when usually the players are playing along side other all stars from around the state and not their normal teammates. AAU has nothing to do with how teams/players match up in high school IMO.

Of course they do. The competition is better. Was just stating that you can't use how players match up on the AAU scene as a gauge as to how they'll match up in high school ball. And we're talking about HS in this thread...not AAU.

You could put Ethan and Ferguson together that wouldnt be a bad backcourt.

 

[imo] Ferguson is the best guard for EC. I watched the game last night, and he has what I call a big city game. Did you see the crossover, popback, then he faded away on two people. As far as best backcourt in the state, I think it depends on who's night it is. Ferg is the only D1 player for EC, while Holmes and Scott County whole backcourts are D1. Now with that said on any given night one tandem can out play the other it's that close. I wouldn't just say EC has the best guards because the are not playing top talent in the state. [iMHO] I don't think EC matches up well against SC and Holmes. Both teams have big guards that can go off the dribble, and I think that will spell trouble for EC. Only time will tell and EC will get there chance to shine. They will be in the thick of things in March. I will say this Ferg is in range once he hits the parking lot.

I agree. I've always been much more impressed with Ferg and would say he is the best one out of the trio.

This to me says a lot, as I'd say college coaches may be a bit better talent evaluaters than most of us here on BGP. I know one of the twins has signed with NKU, which has a nice program, but is a long way from mid-upper D-1? The couple times I've seen them, they are definately fun to watch and indeed play very hard; but "best in the state" is leaving out some major talents??

Derek Smith!! I personally think Ethan is best pg in Ky. Evan already has signed with a

D1(radford). I think Ferguson can possibly play D1 also. They are all three fantasticle.

Indeed they do...but I think some of the EC faithful may be underrating some of the other top talent around the state. As one person said:

I think EC is a top 4 team no doubt. [iMO] If you take Ferg out the lineup, the court will not be as spread as it is for them. He strecthes the defense, teams could key on the twins without catching a 25 footer in there eye. Without Ferg I think Holmes, J-town, BS, and SC would all beat them by double figures.
