No one player in Kentucky had a more accomplished spring and summer than Jacob Jenkins. He also helped Manual reach heights last season not seen for 50 years. He's matured and has become one of the best court leaders in the state and has rounded out his game to become a complete player. There's not many teams in the entire state that if you add Jenkins you're not a regional contender. Saying that, I would put Jenkins along with Samsel is one of the top five backcourts in the state.

 

I was very impressed with Jenkins over the summer at the UK Elite camp. He played with both Pittman and Riley and Jake will be the first to tell you he really enjoyed playing with those guys and vice versa.

 

That's one thing us fans don't realize. As much as we pit these players against one another, they all have a tremendous amount of respect for one another, which is how it should be.

One of the biggest reasons Riley's percentages are so high is because he has unreal basketball I.Q. The kid very rarely takes a bad shot.

 

Now if someone else in the state has better stats than that, I'll gladly call them a better guard than Riley and better shooter.

If Riley shot the ball nearly as much as Ferg, his percentage wouldn't be near Fergusons.

 

J. Ferguson and the Faulkner twins are clearly the best tandem in KY HS Basketball.

I'm seeing everyone on here talk about two deep backcourts. I'd like to think that a backcourt has to be at least 3 if not 4 deep. If you look at it like that I like Louisville Moore's backcourt of Mosely, Breeden, Richardson, and Boyd. Best of all is only Mosely is a senior. I'd put those four up against any 4 in the state, and they HAVE been getting the job done with wins over Male and at PRP. If Crosby and Jackson are getting mention then this backcourt deserves some also.

Can't we just end this debate already? There are a lot of good players around the state. Some are better than the others and some aren't. Who cares? Every player is special in their own way. Some are better shooters, some are better athletes, some are better defenders, and some are better rebounders. There's not one guard in this state that is above the rest in all 4 of those categories, so why keep debating it just because someone has a different opinion?

 

As Doomer said earlier, all this is, is a popularity contest. Obviously the majority of the posters are going to think their players are better simply because they're their favorite team, like the style they play, accustomed to seeing those players, and those only, etc. Let the boys prove it on the court cause honestly A LOT of us, myself included, are making our respective teams that we follow look bad.
