There was at least one OVC school that told him he would have to improve his lateral quickness before they would offer a scholarship. Like I said, he looks a little quicker this season and that is going to make his stock go up. I will say that he isn't as tall as listed on the roster.

I dont think his quickness is a ? mark. He is very quick off the dribble. :thumb:

 

I think the question was lateral quickness on defense. IMO, he is very deserving a D1 scholarship.

Unless some of you learn the rules and start abiding by them then you're not going to be around for the rest of the basketball season. All of this "our guards are better than yours", "your schedule is weak" crap is going to stop right here and now. I honestly don't know how some of you can't see how childish a lot of this banter is. Either play nice, or you won't play at all. There will be no more warnings.

One of the biggest reasons Riley's percentages are so high is because he has unreal basketball I.Q. The kid very rarely takes a bad shot.

 

Now if someone else in the state has better stats than that, I'll gladly call them a better guard than Riley and better shooter.

 

First of all, taking 5 or six shots a game oes not qualify you as the best shooter in the state, or whatever it is you're getting at. I would put Ethan, Evan, or John against anybody in the state if you want to get into a shooting contest. As far as the Faulkners go, throw in about 6 assists and 6 rebounds in the mix combined with great decision making and great dfense, solid IQ, and in my opinion, it's the top backcourt as a whole in the state.

BTW, why don't we just these kids be high school players and not put the D1 burden on them. We see it all of the time. An excited fan gets on here pumping these kids up to a level that they, often, do not attain.

Good post Eta. We all have our favorites maybe because we know them best, like a certain style of play, or whatever. Agreed they are all GREAT basketball players. I saw Riley vs. Scott County....and he can shoot. He is a quiet assassin for that team.

No one player in Kentucky had a more accomplished spring and summer than Jacob Jenkins. He also helped Manual reach heights last season not seen for 50 years. He's matured and has become one of the best court leaders in the state and has rounded out his game to become a complete player. There's not many teams in the entire state that if you add Jenkins you're not a regional contender. Saying that, I would put Jenkins along with Samsel is one of the top five backcourts in the state.
