2 pt FG- 10-15 (67%)

Combined- 26-34 (77%)

 

One of the biggest reasons Riley's percentages are so high is because he has unreal basketball I.Q. The kid very rarely takes a bad shot.

 

Now if someone else in the state has better stats than that, I'll gladly call them a better guard than Riley and better shooter.

This is the part that gets me. So many people are hung up on the "scoring stats" What about the player that makes his team better, cuts off the passing lane and makes deflections, assists and steals. What about turnovers? You hardly ever see this mentioned. I know these stats are not as commonly published as the scoring stats. But give me a "All Round" player and I will take him anytime.

I was asking because to shoot 84% from 3 point range is remarkable. One of the most fascinating stats I have ever heard. I wasn't doubting anyones word or anything.

BTW...Just looked at the stats and Jeremiah Johnson of Holmes is shooting 78% on the year and averaging 13 ppg while also being second on the team in rpg with 6.

 

Tough to argue against Riley and J Johnson when both are shooting close to 80% on the year. If you can find a backcourt that's more efficient than those two, please let me know who they are so I can get out and see them.

For instance, Bryan Station's with the loss of Mack. Right now, wouldn't you say Station's backcourt has accomplished more than any other backcourt in the state?

Couldn't agree with you more! The things you mentioned along with being the coach on the floor & his pure will to win is what makes Ethan Faulkner the best high school point in the state.

 

PS I wasnt asking for scoring stats on Riley just his 3 pt stats because shooting 84% is really quiet an accomplishment!

Here's my take:

 

The Faulkners are both outstanding players and fit well in to ELLIOT CO'S SYSTEM which is why they succeed the way they do. When comparing them to the other top guards in the state though, it's kind of a no brainer. They just really don't have the same athleticism as the others and don't see the same competition night in and night out as those guys do.

 

I know they play well at the AAU level but then again it goes back to the system they're playing in. When talking individual talent and not team. Those two don't compare to the other combos mentioned, and that's no knock on them because I actually really like the Elliot Co trio and team.

So you have stats that prove both Faulkner twins are shooting at a more efficient rate than J. Johnson and Riley of Holmes? If not, hard to argue they are better than those two. Both have tremendous basketball IQ's and never take bad shots...hence their shooting percentage being so high.

I don't care what they've accomplished, the Elliott backcourt are better at the guard positions, IMO.
