Andy Kennedy arrested.

When the cats away, the cat will play. : )

Lets not be naive. If he were that big of a family man he wouldnt even be out that late he would have been sawing logs in his bed.

Im not saying that was his whole intent but you know darn well those guys didnt choose that bar for their delicious cuisine and awesome drinks.

You don't know they choose it for the women either, also some of the other coaches who are there have families and one of them just had his third child. They weren't there looking for women.

Drinking and the middle of the night are always a good recipe for trouble.

This could be a long night then.

I personally believe Kennedy's story on this one. I have never heard anything in a derogatory manner towards coach Kennedy. He seems to be a stand up guy, all class. I think from the way this thing sounds (or should I say smells) is that the cab driver's story is all "el toro poo poo" :D. Sounds like he was just wanting his "15 minutes" of fame.

JMO.

(if only Miss. could have played Cincy, then AK imo could have put a beatdown on them and got some satisfaction out of it)

Now, if Huggins was there instead of AK I would believe it with no problem, heck, "Thuggins" may have been the cab driver.

"Thuggins" may have been the cab driver.

Nah, he's moved on to burning couches. :fire: :D

Kennedy has also filed a civil lawsuit against the cab driver now.

Scare tactic, Kennedy exerting his power. I dont blame him for denying it though until his grave. He has a lot to lose. I personally like Andy Kennedy as a coach, I thought UC should have given him the job so there is nothing personal about my comments here. I just think he made a mistake and got all his buddies together to say we are sticking to this story no matter what.

I saw an interview on WLWT last night with the valet and his attorney. And they seem pretty intent on fighting it to the end. Could be a long hassle and distraction for Mr. Kennedy and Ole Miss.

To me, though, it seems like a night out for those types of guys should be having dinner and then heading back to the hotel and drinking at the hotel bar or a low key place with a few bottles of wine.

I have no problem with Kennedy and his assistants going to a bar. Who's to say they were there to get drunk? Plenty of people go out and have a few drinks without getting wasted.

I have no problem with Kennedy and his assistants going to a bar. Who's to say they were there to get drunk? Plenty of people go out and have a few drinks without getting wasted.

And this is the type of thing that happens when you do. Enough said.

Here are some Quotes from Coach Kennedy's assistants that were present.

Assistant Coach Owen Miller:

Statement: The most bizarre circumstances in my life that I’ve ever been a part of. The accusations against Andy Kennedy are incredibly outrageous. It is incredible what has transpired. There were four of us that were there, it has been documented, the four assistant coaches, me, Mike (White), Torrey (Ward) and Bill (Armstrong). When it all went down, they wouldn’t even take a statement from us. We were eyewitnesses to the account, and they never took a statement from us, didn’t want to take a statement from us.

Question: Have the police to this moment taken a statement?

Miller: No, never talked to the police. Never. They won’t talk to any of us. We were a part of what happened. Not once did they ask a question. We asked if we could give our statement. They said they didn’t need it.

Question: In reference to the police report stating that Bill Armstrong was intoxicated

Miller: That is wrong too. He was begging to take a breathalyzer test, begging, and they wouldn’t do it. Begged them. ‘Please, give me a breathalyzer.’ The reason Bill was emotional obviously was because of what happened to Andy. He was very emotional, as we all were. So, it is just incredible all that has happened. It is hard to believe that can happen in this country. Really is, and my eyes have been opened. I’ll tell you what I’ve learned. Don’t ever put faith in man. You have to put all your faith in God. You have to.

Question: Why do you think the police haven’t contacted you?

Miller: I have no idea. By no means am I a police officer, but you would think you would get all the people that were witness and get a report and a statement of what happened. Never happened, still hasn’t happened.

Question: How did the meeting Friday with Pete Boone go?

Miller: It was great. He was great. He was fantastic. We got back, and our whole staff met. I think him and Andy met before. They brought the whole staff in, and we went through it. Pete was fantastic.

Assistant Coach Torrey Ward:

Question: Is it true that racial slurs were hurled your way?

That is definitely true. All five of us (assistant coaches) were there, and that is what started the whole deal in which we all had something to say to him. It is true.

Question: What is it like to see something like that happen?

Ward: The whole deal is ridiculous. Just from what happened, to being a minute thing, to trying to get home, to blowing up and basically putting our head coach out there, our program out there in a bad light. It all went kind of fast, and it is a terrible situation that is being taken way out of context. You can tell from the guy’s stories that they all don’t match. There are four different accounts, and everyone of them is different.

Question: It was the cab driver that said the racial slur?

Ward: Yes, it was the word that is being reported.

Question: Were there words back at the driver?

Ward: Definitely, but he was the instigator. There was verbal confrontation from all of us, but it was nothing in a derogatory manner other than, ‘I can’t believe you just said that, we want to go home, we want to get out of the cab.’

Assistant Coach Michael White:

Statement: The allegations are ridiculous, absolutely ridiculous. Shocking what has gone down in the last 72 hours or so. It is really unfortunate for Andy and for our university.

Question: Does this change the way the coaches handle themselves in public?

White: It doesn’t change the way we behave in public, because I don’t think we behave inappropriately at all. Were we out late? Sure. Are we out normally to eat dinner late the night before games when we have film at 9:30? Yes. Are most staffs in the country (out late)? Probably. I don’t know that. Most staffs that I deal with on the road get late shoot-around times. Film work with their teams and eat dinner late. It is very common, as has been reported by the national media outlets.

Question: What has this done to increase the bond between the coaches?

White: We’ve had each other’s back. We know that. We are all sticking together, and that is all we can do. We all have AK’s back. We’ll make it through it. We have enough to continue to worry about with personnel and beating Florida A&M.

Here is what Kennedy himself had to say on the matter:

Question: Is it difficult to coach the team and make the necessary changes in personnel with so much going on off the court such as lawsuits and charges?

Kennedy: “Well that’s been a distraction for me obviously. I don’t want that to become a distraction for our team. Other than the initial allegation, we’ve tried to shield our team from that, because in dealing with what they need to stay focused on. Obviously it’s taken away from my focus. But I’ve come to realize that it’s part of the game.”

Question: Will you have to travel back and forth to Cincinnati any?

Kennedy: “I don’t think so. There’s been a pretrial date set for Jan. 16th, which I’m not sure I’ll even have to be there until the trial date is set. That will be determined on the 16th.”

Question: It appears you have gotten basically full support from your administration and from your fans.

Kennedy: “I could not be more pleased with the way...you know Pete (Boone) hasn’t traveled with us much this season. Pete was there. We immediately addressed it, he and I. We brought the other members who were involved with every step of the allegation. My four members of the staff who were there every step of the way, whose stories have yet to be heard, which will come out, once this is engaged in the process. We sat down and we explained to him what occurred. He felt comfortable with that. We had communications with our administration here on campus, who was tremendously supportive. He made his decision, we moved forward on the task at hand, which was obviously preparing our team amid the controversy for the game. Once we got back from the game, obviously now as we all know, this thing has taken on a life of its own, which is again unfortunately part of the process.”

Question: There have been a lot of people asking what the coaching staff was doing in general out at 1:30 in the morning. Does this change the way the coaching staff operates?

Kennedy: “I want to speak to that a little bit, because again I know this is being portrayed as SEC coaches gone wild. I lived in Cincinnati for five years. I’ve got some friends in that area. We went, and the whole staff was not out the entire time, I went to meet some friends from the Cincinnati area. We had dinner. We then went and met some other friends at an establishment. We were departing prior to 1 a.m. This evening started much later after our meetings, in the 10-10:30 range. I can’t give you specifics. When I was processed through the arrest process, that came up at 1:45. That’s when I was actually in the justice center. This occurred much earlier than that. I don’t want it to be portrayed, and it has been portrayed again, as SEC coaches gone wild, which is completely unfounded. I realize your business (media). Now as some of the facts are coming out and some of the statements are coming out and the discrepancies in those statements from the different parties, again speaks to why I had to do what I had to do yesterday (file a civil suit against the cab driver and a witness citing defamation of character and slander). A man takes his whole life to establish credibility, and I cannot stand back and allow my credibility to be impuned based on false allegations. That was the purpose of what I had to do yesterday.”

^ Why would the police ask the witnesses any questions. Their thoery is "Guilty or prove that you are not in the court of law..."

To be responsible before you arrest someone over an allegation you should talk to all the witnesses, they talked to the valet who was on the cab driver's side.

Obviously the Cincinnati Police had no interest in hearing the Kennedy side of things. I believe it was the same police officer who pulled over Huggins....:D

This is beyond dumb. What racial slur are they accused of throwing when they were w/ black people? They called him Osama? Sadam? Seriously. I have no idea what happened but I'm going to believe the 5 guys w/ the same story and I'm guessing theirs is closer to the truth. Is it a slur to call someone Osama? I hope AK is innocent and hammers this guy w/ his civil case. Did they owe him $2 for the tenth of a mile he drove them. You have a group of adults who were responsible enough to catch a cab after drinking and people on here are slammimg them for being out late and chasing tail. So every time these guys go out are they chasing tail? Have you ever been to the bar at the hotel they were at? I have, it sucks and probably wasn't open. What is late to some people is normal for others. Quit judging hard working family men until you know the situation. I'm embarassed that people on here would say that these guys had it coming and they were chasing tail. How much tail is there at this establishment on a Tuesday night? I'm glad that if I go w/ my friends for a few drinks at night my wife doesn't think I'm chasing tail.
