Simon Kenton 28 Male 10

Featured Replies

For the record, for the last two weeks myself and my driver have arrived to the game late, and SK's been down. In both games, the other team did not score after we showed up. I'm DEFINITELY not going to be late next week.

You are not allowed to show up on time. You know this right. Ha Ha :thumb:

I know the entire defense played with nothing but heart, but I told you Jordon Wilson was going to be a beast tonight. I am so proud of the entire SK program. One more to go.

Wow, this is so impressive and I'm really happy for SK! Good luck next week! Everyone has underestimated what youre capable of up until now, so show them next week.

Did anyone else get the feeling that Male didn't really care that much about this game?

It really seemed like it in the second half.

Congrats to the Pioneers! I said win or lose Miles Simpson would show the state why he's a legit Mr. Football candidate next year, and sounds like he didn't disappoint.

On a side note, if Sk beats Trinity next week end, not only will they be the only 9th region team to ever win a basketball state title, but they're also be the only big school from nky to ever win a state title.

Good luck Neers! I'll be down there to watch Highlands bring home #18 so hopefully you guys will bring one home as well! It'd be great to see NKY sweep the state finals and show that our area really does play the best football.

Congrats Pioneers and good luck next week.

Impressive! Congrats to SK!!!!

Wow, great job. You might as well finish your run and upset Trinity also. Good Luck.

Simon Kenton stuns Male 28-10:

Simpson runs for 172 yards, 3 TDs

Cinderella Simon Kenton will ride its running game, not a pumpkin carriage, into Papa John's Cardinal Stadium next Saturday.

The Pioneers scored 28 unanswered points to top Male 28-10 last night in the Class 6-A state semifinals at Maxwell Field.

Junior Miles Simpson ran for 172 yards -- including 137 in the fourth quarter -- and three second-half touchdowns and sophomore quarterback Chad Lawrence rushed for 148 yards and a TD to lead Simon Kenton to its fourth straight road win in the playoffs.

Pioneers' Improbable Postseason Run Continues

LOUISVILLE – They’ve been called a Cinderella team throughout the playoffs, and the Simon Kenton Pioneers will don the glass slipper for one more week after running past host Louisville Male, 28-10 in a Class 6A semifinal on Friday.

Simon Kenton advances to its first football state final in school history.

It took them a while to get warmed up on a frigid night, but once they did the Pioneers (10-4) carved up the Male defense for 324 yards rushing on 27 carries.

“Once we got on a roll, we thought anything was possible,” said Jeff Marksberry, the Pioneers’ head coach. “Our kids just refuse to lose; that’s really the bottom line.”

That's pretty darn impressive for a little ole NKY Cinderella team

From the highlights, the stands weren't exactly full.

Didn't Male have a BBall game last night. No excuse, but...

Simpson is a BEAST. Every time I see his name I picture his TD run against Ryle breaking about 10 tackles and running over many Raiders in the process.
