As crazy as it sounds, a buddy of mine was reading an article from ITV, and apparently if Louisville wins Thursday night at Rutgers, there's an outside chance they would be invited to the Hawaii Bowl. I personally don't see it happening, even with a win.

I hope they make it. What a great treat that would be for the players, and for the fans that could afford it.

They could start the Slugger Bowl and play Trinity or X.

I can see it, and I know football.

It looks like the SEC, PAC 10, and the Big 12 are not going to be able to fill their bowl obligations. Not exactly sure how the process works but several bowls will be looking for a team to fill their vacancy. There are a whole bunch of 6-6 teams out there, if Loiusville wins I would think they have a pretty good shot at getting one of them.

Anyhoo, back to the thread, there are just too many bowl games and they keep adding more each year. I say invite EVERYONE to a bowl game, even the teams who have only won a game or two. Just sad.

My take is different. It is better for these 6-6 or 7-6 teams to get the extra practice time. It helps to build the programs. It also is an experience for any college football player to say they have been to a bowl.

 

Let's be real here, ... we invite 65 teams to have a shot at a national title with the NCAA tourney, ... and some have losing records but just happened to get how and win their conference tourney. Will they win a national title? Highly doubtful, .... but they can say they played in the NCAA tourney. I am not for everyone getting in, but I see no harm in it.

 

What is really bad about it?
